Description
This is the completed version of one of two designs for a lady pirate. I got the idea one day to try my hand at designing a pirate character, and this is what happened.
This is Gwendolyn Marsalis, captain of her own Spanish War Galleon, the Black Widow.
Except for the spider, this is 100% made from scratch, either a sketch on paper, or in Photoshop CS 2. The "map" background was made using only a flesh colored layer and brushing with an awesome grunge brush set by keren-r[link] In fact, this set was the only set of non-default brushes I used for the entire thing. I'm working on my other pirate design right now, so I'll have her up soon.
