So here's Botwoon from Super Metroid, another contribution to the Metroid Database Bestiary project here: [link]The water effects were particularly difficult to work with, although the technique itself is simple enough (shameless use of the dodge tool). It's hard working with shading when the light is really ambient so it's EVERYWHERE
Hope you guys like it! I'm really proud of how he came out, so I'll probably do a "bosses" series full painting using him at some point when I'm finished with all of my current projects. Thanks for looking!

Lovely! I've always had a special place in my heart for Botwoon, if only because someone figured out how to make convincing undulating fins in a sprite-based game. This is a lovely piece of fanart, and I think you pulled off the ambient lighting really well.

Thank you! I'm glad you like him, I really enjoyed getting to know him while I worked on it. I hope to make a background and full rendering for him at some point, since I like how he came out too. But underwater painting is HARD so it'll be quite an expedition. Thank you for the compliment!
