Description At last! It's done! I took me over a year, duh.
I'm pretty glad I can finally move on to other stuff now, and I can say I'll never undertake something that big ever again!

And yes I know the type is unreadable at this size. The original PS file is 1.3Gb (and takes ages to open, update, save) and the flattened .jpg at full resolution is 48Mb. Please send a note (or an e-mail to crooty_at_champignon.ch) with your e-mail address if you want a personal copy and I'll send you a DropBox link to download it. A would be much appreciated then. Thanks.

YAY! This map was part of the Terra Incognita exhibition at the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art in NYC from 16th to 29th July 2010.

YAY! A DD!
Thanks Moonbeam13 and TheCreativeJenn ! And also everyone who comments and s.

Check out Gidde 's beautiful version of the map too:

Gorgeous map, btw!

Yeah, I've been looking for that information too. Which one(s) of yours are there?

Five mixed-bag "Uresia: Grave of Heaven" maps, including one I just posted here on dA ("Grandma August Draft").

I've been told they'll be having a web version up soon so folks can buy prints remotely during the course of the show, so i guess then we'll finally see the whole lineup

Karsten69 In reply to ??? [2010-06-14 11:31:24 +0000 UTC]

One thing I have always found weird with this map is the fact that they have to protect the orb from the east, and they do that by placing it to the farthest west, so far so good...now let's say the world is round instead of flat (like we all know it is xD) ... couldn't the angaraks just sail east? I mean the melcenes could surely just go east and then, "hey there's an island here."

That being said, your map is wonderfully done, can I have one please? it will help keeping track of geography the next time I read the belgariad and mallorean. karsten-gohan@hotmail.com

Amazing! I've been searching for a Belgariad/Malloreon map, but I never thought I would find something like this. I would love to have it. I'm not really an artist, just a big fan of Eddings. So the .jpg would be great. Please. - jack.mortensen@hotmail.com

I guess you used a bevel and emboss layer for the mountains?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Crooty In reply to Sapiento [2010-03-15 18:21:15 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, nope, this is all hand drawn. There is some bevel and emboss of the trees, that's all.

SevenBridges [2010-03-15 02:45:49 +0000 UTC]

Very impressive. I am a big fan of big pieces but they are difficult to work with. The magazine ad I did was about twice the size of my typical project and I wound up having to create the main panels in a different PS file and then bring the flattened images in to the larger framework.

In any case, bravo on your magnum opus!
