This is really great, kudos!

Do you have any plans of expanding it - including the OutIslands, etc? And are all the islands between Jamailla and Bingtown the 'Spice islands' as they are called in the book, or is that some separate island group not on your map?

Crooty In reply to Insanitywave [2011-03-26 15:34:45 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
Actually I just took the maps as I found them in the books and combined them. So sorry no, I have no intention of expanding it to the Outislands. However you can check out ~Kaiohon 's expansion of my map here .
I don't remember the name 'Spice Islands' (read the books some years ago), but I guess they would be those between Bingtown and Jamailla...

Insanitywave In reply to Crooty [2011-03-26 22:33:20 +0000 UTC]

Aah, I see. Thank you for the link, the other map places Spice Island east of the Wild Sea and has also included the OutIslands. So that answers all of my questions.

Thank you again - you've done an amazing job.

Erm... I just realized he added the Spice Islands too.

Hmm it's been a while since I read those, but I guess the spire must be on one of the original maps, otherwise I wouldn't have put it there...

Nice job with this map!

...Forgive me, I'm being rather immature; I had fits of giggles when I first saw this map. Because the in the title of the map, (due to the font), I real "The Six Duchies" as "The Six Ouchies". XD

I think she (or Ken Lewis, author of the original map) did, yes...

This is so helpful. I started getting confused about the geography when I started into the Liveship Traders series. And this one is colored with slight shapes, couldn't wish for better.

You know that most of the six duchies is just Alaska, turned 180 degrees ?

That's hilarious. I just noticed that. I don't think a lot of authors really like the idea of a map.

I'm not sure, it seems mine was really called "Celtic" (from the missing font name I get when I open my file in PS)

But Aon Cari looks very similar!

Englihs automatic traslation:
For the use of your image at [link]
I request him forgive the failure(judgement). My Englishman is not very good, and you prop, when it(he,she) locates the image in google I did not realize that out of Devianart.
I hope that since(as) I it have stopped seem to him(her) to be better, in any case if he(she) wishes some another brand(mark) I ask him to indicate it to myself.
I change it, as you can see.

Concerning the Soldier Son trilogy, I'm waiting until the third paperback is out to start...
I know it's torture, but it'd be even worse to wait between books...

Thanks for the , and the link in your journal!!

the map is awesome. you should do one of the Soldier Son trilogy..

I know... I'm thinking about doing it now... But I don't know if it's a good idea if I haven't read the books, because it gives better ideas on what is where and what kind of landscapes there are etc.
So it might be after I have read the series, but I will definitely do one someday.

If I had a printer, which could print it on A3 format, I'd do it. That's just marvelous. And finally, I will know each name of duchy, isle or city in their original tone My comment may seem to be miserly, but my feelings are just contrary.
I wish there was a map of far south-east *sigh*

And of the North East (Outislands) as well...
Thank you very much for your comment!
