Now, what I never figured out - where are the God's Runes Islands?

I guess they are even further East...
I just limited my map to what's alredy in the books.

That's about all I could ever guess, too. Sniff. Why weren't they included on the original maps, that's what I don't understand!

As Megan told me, she only gave a very basic map of where the important places were, to Ken Lewis. Then I guess she never really bothered to expand it.

Glad to hear it! When I get round to doing some drawing I'm going to try and draw Amber and Paragon from the Liveship series, which I'm reading and the moment.
Maybe she'll let you create some of Verity's maps

That's incredible.

How can you do this ??? Can you teach me ?

Crooty In reply to LeTatou [2005-01-20 18:16:11 +0000 UTC]

Well... in short:

1. copy the maps from the books on calc
2. scan the calcs
3. assemble in Photoshop (eg)
4. make selections, using brush and selection mask, of all differents parts (eg sand, water, green)
5. with brush in aerograph mode, paint the selections with a basic colour, each one on a different layer
6. slightly alter the colours and paint again
7. add shade and light by adding little bits of, eg, darker green and lighter green
8. add text
9. add compass
10. add frame

And voilΓ !
