I am not the greatest at sculpting or molding clay, but I've always wanted to make a Statue of Great Cthulhu from HP Lovecraft's Weird Horror Stories and Mythos.I rather like how it turned out, although it looks more cute than terror-inflicting. Still satisfied with it anyway. Once it's cooked I will try and give it a completing bronze or stone paint job

Actually, after spending years making uber-insanely-highly detailed models, and then starting to experiment with more simplified forms, I find simplified stuff can be just as challenging--and require similar amounts of patience. Lots of surface detail can cover up imperfections that are glaringly obvious on a smooth surface.

You may not think you're the greatest but no worries, this is a very nice work indeed! I would go with a stone finish, maybe even a marble one since the smooth surfaces just scream something handmade by an ancient culture.
