This is for Sai, but the technique is so simple, it may work for similar programs like Photoshop or Gimp.I hope this helps! I haven't made a tutorial in a long time. There maybe other ways to do this, but this is how I do it and somebody asked me about it soo...
Flare and the rest of the fire wings are hard to shade!

It's actually pretty easy. It only uses one brush and just adding some dots. Trying to figure out how lighting looks on a shape is the hardest part, but this tutorial isn't about that...that's something I still have to work with sometimes XD
