Description
The titan of pollution, second born of Echidna and Typhon. Orthus is a creature made out of oil, petroleum and other toxic substances. His inside is burning, and its like this since he can remember. When Orthus was born, he immediately began to ooze oil and petroleum from his skin. His true body was made out of solid petroleum. When his father took him in his arms, the mostrous child took fire. Voices says that Typhon did this purpusedly, to see if his son was strong enought to live. Orthrus suffered for months, barely surviving by secreting flammable substances that kept the flames away from his body. His curse, however, tought him to use his powers, and, when he understood how to master his dominion over chemicals, he made his body untouchable from flames. However, there was damage: his lower body was gone, as well as his chest skin and muscles, leaving only his exposed ribcage. This mighty titanwas a true pain in the ass for the gods to take down.Abilities:
Immunity- as a Titan, Orthrus was immune to any kind of damage, with the exception of sometimes fire-based ones and the ones inflicted by other titans or dieties;
Titanic powers- alter form, alter reality, alter size, create objects, create creatures, summon creatures, chemicals control, possession, control objects, control creatures;
Two heads- Orthus has two heads, and such a double breath and bite attack. The two heads are giuded by the same will, and are the same being;
Toxic cloud- Orthus is a walking chimney, continously burning and expelling various, noxious gasses from his manes. This process never stops, for the titan continously secretes and consume various flammable chemicals;
Chemiokinesis- Orthrus can create and manipulate various chemicals, and even make weapons or servants out of them. Everything he creates, however, sooner or later takes fire (like father, like son);
Burning heart-Orthrus's inside is opened and on fire. It had been like this since he was a child. Wanting, he could make the flames die down, but he is unconsciously fueling them with his hate for all creatures, also because combustion help him release toxic gasses and such. Should a being end up inside him, it wouldn't last much more than some seconds;
Minor Shapeshift- Orthrus can change his body's molecular structure and become liquid, gas or solid, but he does it rarely, for if he takes on a flammable form, he'd be consumed by his own flames;
Petrol cape- Orthrus's "cape" is made out of petrol, and at will it can move and envelop his enemies. Also, the cape is on fire on one side, thus if someone's enveloped, he'd burn to death;
Orthrus is literally a creature of burning hatred, and unsatiable hunger for consuming and destroying anything, much like a living furnace. He hate everything and anything, except his mother, the only one that never showed disgust or anything in his presence. In fact, Orthrus visits his mother often. His father was proud of him, even if Ortrus hated him for his burning curse. However, when Typhon was slain Orthrus was even more enraged, for he was the one with the right to do such a thing. When banished in the Tartarus, Ortrus made his home not far from Echidna's own one, in a deep cave underground, where he mostly sleeps, awakening only to wreak some destruction then melting back into his lair. He's known also for spending time in the Abyss, where he made some alliances with Blest and Kereth.
Yeah, very Hexxus-based, but I really liked that villain's look, and I think I did a good job with a thing that started as a simple hound. You can almost hear him singing "Toxic love" XD

For originality's sake, I picture one head to be the cold, rational head while the other is insane and sadistic, but both voiced by the same actor.

That too could work, but chaotic as he is he could be that and other things too, that's just how titans are.

Is Orthus a real titan from Greek Mythology?

For what I know, he is son of Typhon and Echidna, brother to Cerberus, so not an actual titan as much as a supernatural and powerful monster.

I know he's a real creature form Greek Mythology, but I don't remember if he WAS a titan or not.

Okay. You think I could maybe borrow this design for my own series on Mythology? I can show you what I've drawn so far if you want.

Certainly, although maybe not quite as smoothly as Tim Curry.

Dunno, an old idea was for one head to have his voice, the other James Woods, and he would introduce as "Babum, name's Orthrus, lord of pollution, hey how're ya doin?"

Ha. That sounds marvelous.
This guy, Hedorah, and Hexxus should hang out and pass around a smoke stack.

And the voice of Tim Curry! lol Or at least o of teh eads sounds like Tim Curry.
Not too sure how I feel about this guy, though he is a very neat titan. However he riminds me of Hades, both of Greek myth and of cartoon self which is just funny as heck!
Design wise...it's like a hellhound in a robe. I'm not sure if that is just plain strange or just pure win.

Well, that was not meant, but its nice to ee rensemblance with my fav god.
He's designed to be just that, chaotic and confusing XD

Then again, ol' Tim has about 100 different voices he can use, so it's not like I narrowed anything down for this guy.
But of course!
Just as it should be. lol
