James was one of Scarlets henchmen. He joined her in high school, but after he and the others got arrested and thrown in jail, he didn’t know what to do. He felt some remorse for his actions, and after Scarlet threatened to slit Jesses throat, he abandoned her entirely. In prison, he behaved well, so he and Jess got their sentence reduced to years of community service. Now, he tries to make up for what he did when he was with Scarlet.
