Ruby joined the Octarian Army at a young age. She used to despise inklings, and the fact that octolings were deserting. However, she eventually had a change of heart, and left the army. She then proceeded to help octolings get to the surface, and helped keep peace between inklings and octolings. In the end, she sacrifices her life to save Jade/Agent 3, something she thought she’d never do.
