I’ve wanted to draw this picture since I started to read the Harry Potter’s books and now I’ve had done this.
At the Winter Fandom Combat 2017 I did series of monochrome pictures about the chess and the game of these both characters. In this picture I continued that idea more concrete. I wanted to show existence of them which is full of throws, monitoring, surveillance, analysis and of course risk, danger and surprises.

Rowling showed in first book (for example when Harry, Ron, Hermione played the magic chess) how complicated and difficult the game could be. When you are playing with live creatures, it can be clear and simple in the idea and plan but it’s difficult in real life. You need to feel balance and you aren’t at the top always. You have a lot of unexpected moments. Everything is changing.

I want to show in my art this moment of game. And many skulls in the cupboard demonstrate how it is complicated.

Tom really loves challenges. He likes to walk along the edges, always finding something new. He has mistaken too but he studies and analyzes, he has obsessive to his purpose and he finds the way into. Tom has experiments and he takes a good position one way or another.

Albus, with his great experience power and plans, will mistake and fail one day.

The more interesting and unexpected the game for them both is. And they both prefer to risk, bravery and cunning. It’s something from fate even if you have sharp brains and great power. It doesn’t matter how good you are playing. You are dissolving in process.

Tom and Albus are similar in some moments. They both have long fingers, tall and thin bodies, even poses at the table. One is like mirror for another. They always spying one after another, playing in one deck of cards. It’s always connecting between Tom and Albus.

They have many skulls beside the chess table. Albus feels grieve about victims of that game but he never stops. He has to continue the game. Even Tom feel bad about victims when ghosts of his murders came and stay around him.

It doesn’t matter who is the winner of that game. The feeling of this sharp, difficult, dangerous but really interesting connection is value by itself and it takes all time that they have.
