Description

I now present to you, a render of the final Player Character from my table-top superhero RPG, Mr. Burke.

Mr Burke is the head custodian for the MacCullond Industries Northern Ontario facility. He is a quiet, unassuming individual that does his job to the best of his ability. He is friendly and approachable, leading him to be someone the rest of the facility's staff tend to share their thoughts, concerns and joys with, like he was another member of Dr Tarquist's mental health staff. Mr Burke does not mind, as it helps him feel like he truly belongs here, something he sometimes questions. After all, how can an extraterrestrial biological entity truly belong on a planet full of humans?

Mr Burke is in actuality, a Skrull, a shapeshifting race from a distant galaxy. They are a militaristic empire, with expansionist and warlike tendencies. Among his people, he is a brilliant scientist, but something of an aberration: he is a pacifist. The thought of bringing harm to another living being sickens him. His refusals to participate in projects that would further the Empire's war efforts on their neighbours, as well as his efforts to sabotage those projects, resulted him in being branded a traitor. With the help of some members of a "5th Column" working in the Empire, Mr Burke managed to steal a starship, and escape to a nice, quiet backwater planet in the Milky Way galaxy: Earth.

Aside from his ability to shapeshift and imitate other humanoid beings, Mr Burke has no powers of his own. With that said, during the time it took to reach Earth, Mr Burke, with his brilliant mind, managed to build a technological "bridge" to a number of his ship's systems.

These systems are as follows:

1) A gateway transport system that allowed travel between the ship and a set of co-ordinates.

2) A dedicated sensor suite, specifically attuned to detecting and identifying nearby lifeforms.

3) A medical bay that was normally used to increase the rate of Mr Burke's healing, but was also, in the case of extreme traumatic injury, capable of resuscitating him, as long as a sufficient amount of his remains were present.

Given Mr Burke's inborn ability to imitate a specific individual, it is important to note that his position at MacCullond Industries was not the result of him replacing someone. His Earthly identity is the result of observing and researching the people of this planet, third from its star, and input from both Storm MacCullond and Brian McCallister, the only two people at the start of the story that actually know who and what Mr Burke is.
