You might want to put something over it...like...put a plain piece of paper between the iron and the piece you are ironing..and put it on a gentle setting. But I have heard it totally works.

I would suggest doing a couple tests...paint on some paper just to get it painty and warped, let it dry, and give the ironing a shot...see what works best.
