Description
Anybody body recall the ROM spaceknight cameo/easter egg in the ill fated Silver Surfer cartoon in the early 90s? Well, thanks to the wonders of modern technology I can have a ROM appearance of one of the best Sarurday Morning cartoons of all time. Also speaking of digital art, here's an awesome color job I did on Ikon around 3 years ago along with a more current one . . .(right) by Michael Mist

AwAwesome I recently got the orgin story of the first episdoe and will to give it another chance it better then I rememember thanos and ego appeances and working, it to bad they never had a fantasic four made an apperance or tied to the orgin like spiderman , I always lolike the coonnectiion they had with them I also suprized the FF don;t interact more him adm warlock since he first appered and their comic too

I loved that old show, it was poorly scripted by Ruby Spears, but isn't amazing that by focusing on entertaining people, that show stuck with us all these years.
Oh, if you loved that show, don't read Dan Slott's Spider Verse

yeah when I watch it now on youtube it's mostly all about the nostalgia because from a writing stand point (especially the dialogue) it's pretty dated now. as a kid I loved all those guest appearances by other marvel characters on that show there just wasn't anything else quite like that on Saturday morning cartoons.

Never saw the Silver Surfer cartoon in the 90's, I really wanted to see Galactus! But i did see Spidey and his Amazing Friends and i was a ardent watcher though the "Go for it!" cry was SOOOO 80's it was beyond laughing! Had some great episodes but the one that tickled me the most was Angelica admitting SHE DATED MAGNETO!! Omygooodd!!! Great work on gettin' Ol' Rom in there effendi!

Looks like they wanted to preserve the Kirby/Buscema styles, Thats nice, but it just shows the limitations of combining CGI and Hand-Drawn animation back in the day! (The Japanese make it look so easy, even back then!)

for me it's another matter when it came to marvel cartoons in the 90s and beyond. the X-Men of the early 90s was the last cartoon series the marvel did that I found watchable. every other one they've done ever since was not at all to my liking it always seems like their geared toward a early teen crowd. the stuff from DC like the Paul Dini Batman series, Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice are more my speed as far as animated TV superhero shows that I like to watch in my adult years.

I have to agree, most Marvel toons are aimed at kids but the DC stuff is far more watchable as an adult. Paul Dini is the man. I will note the the recent Avengers animated film dealing with the Punisher and Black Widow was nice and adult themed.

when it comes to the animated movies you can't go wrong with Justice League: Flashpoint, Batman Under The Red Hood and Batman Assault on Arkham. you can't get much more adult themed then watching the Joker beat Robin nearly to death with a crowbar or Aquaman getting his arm lasered off by Superman's heat vision.

I love this series, I mean, I watched at the time, and a while ago i watched a dozen episodes with my wife, it´s a really good Spiderman series. Firestar was the sexiest thing on cartoons at that time.
