My entry for and their Haunted House contest.

When I started computer-painting, presumably back in the late 90s, many of my first works were buildings, as geometric shapes were easier for a neophyte to do; as you can imagine, many of them were little more than straightforward views of boxes and rectangles with windows and roofs. Of all of those, most have been long deleted. Only two or three still exist and can be found in my gallery.
As I got better, the idea of buildings in dilapidated condition appealed to me. I've already depicted both American versions of the Haunted Mansion, but this is one of the few original such structures I've created. Decrepit buildings upon a hill, that require the viewer to perceive them from below, always seem to look evil ....consider the Bates' house from Hitchcock's Psycho.
