~entry for =firstfear 's Mother Earth contest~After my first doll I realized that I can't draw cartoonish people the way others draw them, but I can draw my own style of abstract looking people. This girl looks like most of my random doodles, so I was pleased with the way she came out. Limbs are bent, head is small, appendages are elongated, and I'm satisfied with that.
The background is supposed to be like clay or something with animals carved in it. There's a sea turtle, eagle, squirrel, snail, and a snake hidden in the top of the largest circle. The rocks/dirt clods the girl is holding represent the earth just as the clay does, and they spin counter clockwise to represent the earth's rotation.

Not at all what I was expecting from the preview. It looks better than alot of other pixel dolls, in my opinion. I love it, and I love your style. Yeah.
I think that you should have givven her more of a swollen belly to accentuate the 'mother' part of her though.

VERY nice. Usually I don't like pixel art all that much, probably because when it's not done well it looks really harsh and sharp. This piece is extremely well done, though. It's beautiful.

I'm not really a huge pixel-art fan,in that I don't understand it or look at a lot of it, but I was inturigued by your preview and was really amazed!Adapted a little bit, this would make a beautiful tattoo or a mural. She's beautiful, I love her, and the buterfly and hummingbird make reallt cute little touches. Well deserved DD!

I think it's very simple to shrink my whole post in one word "Amazing", but I think that considering the quallity of your deviation, it deserves a lot more than that.
Like some already mentioned, the tropical setting is great. I really like the "Heliconias" (I don't know how they are called in English, they are the most left flowers). I could be a nit-picker and say that Bird of paradise needs a bit more of blue, but that's that is hardly important.
The character is amazing, I like the way you drew it. It has a great palette and its elastic form looks awesome.
The wings are definately one of the best parts too. I like the texture they have, it looks a lot better than the average plain (almost plastic) wings. It definately gives it a more natural touch.
The clay circles are also great, the only thing I could say about them is that, conceptually, I don't associate the animals carved with the flowers.
Great deviation, it's one of the best works of pixel art I have seen lately.
