Description
Just a small drawing again. There's a small project, far off,for which I do some creatures here and there
and I've yet got so much to learn, but it's a lot of fun
Criticism would be, as always, very welcome

oddly the legs don't stand out as much as I thought

Since you said criticisms are welcome, I've been staring at this in an attempt to find something that could be improved; all I came up with is that raccoons tend to be a bit fluffier around their rump and back legs, rather than muscular like they are in your image (which isn't a very good criticism, as art is objective). Marvelous work on the cross-hatching! The tail especially comes to life due to the amazing work done there!

Yeah, the rump lacks a bit of fluffy volume,
the legs where supposed to go in a kangaroo direction,
but that didn't quite work out,
they just look bald this way^^

Really reminds me of the traditional ink illustrations in really old books, I really like the aesthetic : )

Possibly this will be part of a set of illustrations for a book sometime,
but since the story belonging to the world isn't written yet and I'm not the one writing it
it might take a bit^^

I did some illustrations for poetry and well, a bit of comics,
but classical story illustration is a first for me.

Sorry for the late response, I got tangled in uni assignments myself
for the last week...
As for art projects. I personally think it is always worth trying,
even if one isn't satisfied with the outcome (I'm thinking of my first comic project^^)
it's still a nice thing to have a bigger project, which can branch and grow
and needs focus and endurance as well.
Often the progress achieved by such a project, even if it's only done for oneself,
is quite a different one than individual pieces.
So I can only encourage you to try it one day!

Well well, look at this for a late response though!
So, I ended up leaving the course I was doing, it really didn't live up to my expectations, which is a shame, but I feel better now.
I'm doing some volunteer work, looking for a part-time job, and trying to draw more, but somehow I've been so busy since I left uni @_@
I think finding an art project to get involved in would be a great idea right now, since I have some extra time.
I've got no idea how to find such a thing, but I'll look around!

As for art projects, I don't even think they have to be big
to be of a high learning value.
Also, even though I'm not sure if that's of any interest for you
but we're looking for a colorist for our webcomic project,
yet the style has to fit and I'm not the only one deciding,
but if you'd be by any chance intrigued you could samplecolor one page.
Anyways, I'm sure you'll find something soon!
