Description ...and now it feels like home.

I wonder how some people can live without a place of calmness,
without ever being completely on their own.
Sometimes it's nothing more valueable than not to be heard or seen.

Criticism is very welcome as always,
have a lovely day.

Once again I like the colours you used. This time they don't contrast each other (like in your last not-comic piece with orange and purple), but it still works Interesting composition, it kind of makes an "x" with the yellow smoke and the body.

Thanks a lot. Yes the colors are not contrasting
in the sense of traditional color theory, yet they still are
somehow of contrasting type.
It's strange how detached all the theory is to practice,
with composition it's even more extreme.
As for the composition, I think I would have liked to add some space
in postprocessing, but I forgot about it^^

Where you wanted to add the space? On the left? Or all around but the bottom maybe? I'm curious.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Cuculum In reply to AdrStefanska [2018-11-22 22:36:06 +0000 UTC]

On the top and on the left probably.
Spacing can change a lot

I'm not entirely sure if that's a good thing,
it's always strange with such drawings,
I do know what they feel to me, but for anyone else
it's an entirely different story^^

It grew on you, you say...
A thought, a hope, an idea...

...or solitude? ~

Cuculum In reply to LonesomeBookworm [2018-10-03 21:50:26 +0000 UTC]

probably flaws or solitude strike home the most,

but I don't find exactly fitting words, else words alone would do^^

also it's not meant in a bad way,
time can change a lot and sometimes it takes years to make up ones mind.

Well said. I can`t help but thinking of the baobab trees in The Little Prince,
how like flaws, they must be removed before they take up root.

Cuculum In reply to LonesomeBookworm [2018-11-22 22:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Wow, my response is more than a month delayed, that must be a new personal record^^
Anyways,
even though I do agree with the Little Prince, that it is hard to remove flaws when they have taken up root,
I don't think all flaws need to be purged.
At least I think differently about some of them over the course of years, 'milder' if that makes any sense.

Hey, no worries, real life is important XD
I believe I may have been a bit of the mark, so allow me to paraphrase;
the baobabs in The Little Prince symbolise mostly bad habits rather thanΒ
flaws, which is why they have to be removed by the prince before theyΒ
get rooted in too deeply and cause his planet to crumble. But you are right,
flaws should be monitored but not purged. Without them, we'd be doomed

or at least very boring^^
I don't know why I have to think about Momo as much as I do about the little prince
in this discussion. Seemingly they have some resemblance,
but I don't even know how well known Momo is in other countries.
Probably not very much^^

I'm afraid you're gonna have to educate me on this Momo, my friend,Β
because when I look it up, all that shows up is dumplings and... this thing:www.google.com.cy/search?q=mom…

Cuculum In reply to LonesomeBookworm [2019-01-01 23:34:23 +0000 UTC]

haha, no that's something very different^^
well it's long ago since I've read the book
it's about a strange wise girl in a sociaty which goes more and more to hectic, blandness and consumerism,

while it is somewhat of a children-book, it doesn't stop at that.

I don't know if links work, but if they do, the synopsis surely helps (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momo_(no… )

Lo and behold, weeks after you mention this book to me, I stumble upon it at the mall XD
That sounds interesting, seems like it might be on par with The Little Prince in terms of themes and messages.

I should reread both of them,

if I only had the time for reading^^

But as far as I remember it's definitely worth a recommendation.

I don't know how good any of the translations is though, that's
always a critical point with books.

This makes me think of the man in Fallout who had a tree grow around him until he was effectively rooted to the ground.

In which Fallout game? I've only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas,
and I've unfortunately finished none^^
But probably he's not happy about growing into a tree or is he?

He's somewhere in Fallout 3, some sort of lush grove in the middle north part of the map.

I've just read the article on the fallout wikia about harold. He's been in (almost) every game of the series up to fallout 3
slowly accompanying him from ghoul form to tree,
at least as it reads on paper that's one of the most fun concepts in a franchise I've seen for a while
