I hope you all see this.

When people think about The three railway engines, most people think of Edward, Gordon & Henry, one of the first 3 engines that appeared in the first Railway series book titled, The three railway engines, written by Wilbert Awdry, for the Thomas & Friends tv series, some people think of Thomas, Percy and James, for me, it's Thomas Edward and Gordon, the reason for this is not only because there all blue, but there also one of the first 3 engines that appeared in the first season of the tv series series.

Granted Henry was painted blue at the end of the Forth story " Edward, Gordon and Henry from the first Railway series book " The three railway engines", but in later books, Henry was repainted back to green because the readers of books were complaining that Henry's blue livery makes him too similar to Gordon, so Wilbert took Henry's blue livery and writing out in future books of the series, Thomas Edward and Gordon on the other hand were always seen painted blue from the first two books and all the way of the of the book series run, Wilbert's son.
Christopher Awdry, the man who took over the book series from book 27 "Really useful engines" in 1983 to book 42 "Thomas & his friends in 2011.
The very Thomas related VHS tape was "Thomas gets tricked" I watched it and fell in love with the franchise ever since, Even though Thomas didn't appear in the books until book 2 of the series and Edward was the first character to be created by the original author, but I felt that having an episode about Thomas instead Edward makes sense to me, if you remember that in the railway series Thomas had the number 1 on the sides of him in the books, which also appeared in the tv series, Edward had the number 2 on the sides on his tender only in the tv series.
I was very happy that Edward & Gordon got to be members of the steam team between seasons 8 – 21, I was so sad to find out that Edward along with Henry and Toby were retired from the steam team and were replaced by two new female characters Nia & Rebecca, Don't get me wrong, I do think that Nia & Rebecca are good characters, but it doesn't feel the same without Edward & Henry,
Granted I'm still happy that Thomas & Gordon are still apart of the steam team, but i'm still sad that

Edward isn't part of the team anymore, unfortunately the same applies with the up coming 2021 reboot "All engines go".

All in all, I still think that Thomas Edward & Gordon are a great trio, not just on the North western railway, but also the Island of Sodor.
