I am very impressed with your traditional art. I've been peeking around your gallery for a while, and as much as I like your digital art, I feel like you are more confident using traditional mediums. Your use of colour, linework - it all helps to create a unique, distinct style and that's something I like a lot.

There are some truly exceptional pieces in your digital art gallery, like Stained Glass , but they don't match the subtle grace of this work and its companion.

I particularly like the Ying-Yang nature of those pieces. The cold blue tones of Flashes of blue are exaggerated further by the upturned nose and almond-shaped eyes. This fleshes out a strong-willed character and a promise of mischief - quite the opposite of this piece.

The colour scheme of gold and blue creates a sense of tranquillity. The entire piece comes to life and soft, playful brushstrokes help to bring together a composition worthy of being a book cover. The idea of the book cover is something that appeared in my head as soon as I saw both of these sister pieces. They are so full of life and character that it's hard not to perceive them as part of a bigger story. You are doing a great job in making your viewer's imagination run wild c:

I also really enjoy how you choose to portray the human figure as stylised rather than realistic. It works well and adds to the overall sense of awe and magic of this piece. If I could be bold enough to suggest some room for improvement it would be in regards to the proportions though. I saw the previous commenter mentioning the head being too big, and I don't particularly agree with that. Exaggerating the head to body ratio is often a good way to bring out the cuteness of the character and make it easier to convey emotions through the facial expression. However, I feel like creating a longer, slender figure could work a little better. It feels to me like arms a little too short in comparison to the body.  Arm positioning is an important aspect of this piece's composition as they balance out the symmetry of the piece.

The one thing I need to praise in particular is how well you establish light in this piece. It's very clear that the character is submerged and little splashes of light appear all around her body, dancing, like rays tend to do underwater. It shows your awareness as an artist and expertise in the use of the very difficult medium that watercolours are. I see a lot of people who first start using watercolours being afraid of the white paper coming through, but that's not the case here.

It's a pleasure and joy to come across a work like this! Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to seeing more watercolour endeavours of yours!

Thank you so much for your comment It was such a pleasure to read and you made many useful points!
You are sort of right - I've been painting with watercolors since 3rd grade, and going digital only for little less than a decade, so I surely have a lot more experience with traditional mediums. At the moment I fully enjoy doing both.

Both of these pieces are part of a story I'm working on :3 but as for now, they are just some fun pieces I made over the summer to have fun with watercolors.
I really gotta try to get more time to paint with them >u< I had one piece in the making but I ruined it so badly I think it's never gonna see the daylight! But Christmas is coming and it's often a good excuse to paint some more!

Now you're making me blush! But don't get me wrong, your digital art is absolutely awesome and you are very skilled at it. It's just a matter of personal preference here. Your traditional style speaks more to me.

Making mistakes is part of the process! I'm sure the piece you were working on is not ruined half as bad as you think! I will be watching out for more traditional art and the story

No worries I get what you're saying Plus it's not like I could decide which one I like better...
I'm just glad to hear you enjoy my traditional works too!
Oh rest assured it is XD but I saved the sketch so I might color it digitally as the watercolor coloring kinda became a mess (mostly due to the paper >8I)

This is very beautiful.  I love your use of colors, the combinations are a delight to look at.  They are really pleasing to the eye. They mesh wonderfully.  The linework really gives me a feeling of motion here.  Flowing waves and the subtle movements of the fish, along with the flowing dress really convey motion and the flow of water.  Which is of course perfect for a water piece.  I love the subtle details here, like the pupils of the fish eyes and the scales on her dress.  It adds a lovely layer of detail.  The hair is another nice touch with it flowing around her face. It makes me want to see more.  I honestly love this, it is lovely to look at and to study.  I am interested in checking out some more of your work. And yes the fishes are just adorable. It is incredible that you did this with watercolors.  I remember loving working with them but the detail you get is just amazing.  This inspires me to paint again and that is a very good thing.  Good show!
