Hello Everyone, thank you for waiting so patiently, I’m so glad I can draw again on my computer, without further adieu here’s the redesigns, Fire and Powerstike, the two assholes with no redemption!

FIRE

Per usual, a little swearing cuz of the fury I feel when writing my thoughts and feelings about these characters. Also a warning with mentions of abuse.

Personal thoughts on the Character:

Ok….. there’s a lot to unpack with this character. In the beginning, he’s just the jerk little brother who clearly believes in the whole “Women are meant for making food and staying in the kitchen” kinda guy. Then he totally flips when he’s a young adult, which I found to be weird, but considering there was such a big time skip I’d understand the change of character, although it’s still strange because he acts like a totally diffrent person. Anyway, as he’s shown, he’s now kind and supportive, taking Spark’s role. When he’s booted out of the pride he becomes….Well, an idiot. He sneaks into his old pride’s territory to see his sister (sweet, but not smart), then when they are discovered Fire offers Feather to go with them to a band of rouge lions.

I mean, come on, the lions there could have EASILY torn poor Feather apart BECAUSE THAT’S PART OF THEIR LAW!!!!

It’s just idiotic, and I know that the only reason he did it was because Feather would have tattled if he didn’t, but he could have literally done ANYTHING ELSE.

Anyway, I digress….. When they meet fire again on the prideless stretch, he acts the exact same as he was when he was a teenager, but for whatever reason awkward with Feather (Oh I wonder what that could mean), he’s supportive and is ready to take a pride on his own, which he asks Nothing’s(Dreamer’s) help for, she accepts but because of her trauma she freezes, leaving Feather to save Fire instead.

Then suddenly Fire turns abusive, not acknowledging his sister’s trauma and basically tells her to do whatever he says (random character change again? Guess that sexist bullshit never really went away huh)

So after when he goes to confront the pride they reject him (obviously, he fought dishonourably), so then they encourage Fire to kill a child. He agrees to these terms (Which we saw coming because we got that amazingly creative scene of Feather and Fire being awkward with each other)

Then he commits child murder, in front of his sister, who’s been raising Feather.

……. That’s pretty fucked up man.

He doesn’t even kill Feather, yet he kills a full-grown lion with a bite to the neck but not a child….. okay.

So then the fight happens between him and his sister and he tries to act like the good guy and continues to be sexist towards his sister. Who just doesn’t take any of his crap (good for you Dreamer).

Anyway, the point of my rambling is that he isn’t a well-thought-out character and there should have been signs of his assholery before the first and last episode of the season.

Physical character changes:

I didn’t do much when it came to changing his design, I liked his design quite a bit, so all I did was really add a few more scars because I’d imagine he’d have more than just an ear notch and a nose scar from his time on the stretch. Especially after that fight with Tangle, which yes, does still happen . But it happens differently. I also changed his eye rims to just be fully darker around the outside, like Scar in the lion king, it makes him look more evil . I also just slightly changed where his lighter markings go on his belly and feet to resemble Powerstrike a little more.

(I’d just like to mention my auto correct keeps trying to correct it to Powerstroke and it’s the best thing ever)

Opinion on character:

Buckle up Ladies, bros, and Non-binary Hoes, because we are in for a wild ride!

Powerstrike at first glance in the first episode looked like the mom who's serious about her kid’s well-being but still loving towards them and her mate.

Then when her mate and child die and her other becomes disabled she….. Doesn’t seem all that upset about it? I mean she’s angry at Quickmane, and wants to kill him, but she isn’t seen grieving, or being sad…. Like at all. She even ends up being the first to give Quickmane cubs, which is…. Fucked up on so many levels.

Like, imagine knowingly procreating with the murderer of your partner and child.

Anyway, that’s a whole rant on its own, she continuously puts down Nothing (Dreamer), and even tries to name her daughter Hobblestep…. You know, because of her limp.

It’s not like she has them from defending herself from your husband. Nope.

Throughout the show, Powerstrike continues her abuse, putting down her daughter, manipulating her, and continuously being ablest.

During the rain scene in episode 5, Powerstrike states that Fire is no longer her son and that he deserves to die because he broke Pride law…… which, yeah it was a dumb idea for him to do that, but you don’t just disown your child when he becomes an adult or make a mistake.

Then Powerstrike decides to change the conversation, saying that since her daughter has a disability (Because of her mate), she gets to bitch about how her life became so much harder when Nothing (dreamer) gained her limp.

Then she starts ranting about how Nothing (Dreamer), could have been her proudest achievement, as though the fact she gave birth to her reflects on her as a person? I mean, the way you RAISE a child does reflect on you as a person, but if your child becomes the next Einstein you don’t say that your kid is your “proudest achievement”, it doesn’t make sense because your child’s interests and abilities don’t have much if anything to do with you! That makes Powerstrike sound….. Like she’s comparing Nothing (dreamer) to an object more than an actual person.

Which, if that doesn’t scream abusive parenting, I don’t know what will.

We don’t see Powerstrike again until episode 7, where she stands up for Hover.

She never did that once for her daughter.

Powerstike tells Proudmane that he needs to leave Hover alone, and that she “stands with her huntresses”. Then proceeds to leave her pride with Hover and Farleap, which is a total 180 on her character considering that she’s clearly not given two shits about her daughter as she was emotionally or physically abused by her partner (and herself). But now she’s like “I left the pride for you Hover, because Nothing loves you and you’re all I have left of her”

Not to mention she left her other daughter (Silentstalk) in the claws of Proudmane, who is 100% alive and 100% going to become an abuse victim considering how Proudmane acts.

Anyway, Powerstrike has no redemption in my story and doesn’t deserve one either because she’s an Abusive and negligent mother who hasn’t redeemed herself in the slightest.

Physical changes:

So, obviously, unlike her son, she got a BIG makeover. Powerstrike is someone with power, she oozes authoritarian vibes, while also being an ass to our protagonist. I have her a fluffy neck, I wanted to make her more queenly looking, like those women who wear fur scarves around their neck to a gala or something.

I also gave her a stripe down her back, making her look a little more like Zira from the lion king, I basically just wanted to make her look like the biggest asshole I could while still giving the same vibe. I also gave her a darker eye rims, which I honestly think they REALLY should have done, I feel like it makes her look a lot more interesting.
