Hey Everyone! CuriousWren here, this has pretty much been sitting waiting to be posted since last month but I’ve been too lazy to actually finish the writing part, but here I am! So I hope you enjoy part 2!

I’d like to remind you that these are all just my opinions, and I don’t mean any shame to the creators, I am just using artistic liberties to have fun with these characters.

Also please know that some of these character things may be getting minor tweaks in the future if I continue this into a series. Like Hover’s gender is still one I’m thinking over and Genderfluid is sort of just a placeholder since I feel like that’s what fits best right now.

Spark

Personal thoughts on the character:

Spark’s a cute guy, he was only around for a little while but he definitely gives me the “supportive big brother” vibe. I found it sort of strange how after their death all of a sudden Fire automatically takes that roll. Also, the fact that they mourn for 0.2 seconds over his death before they go on to meet Powerstike. I feel like if he survived it would have been a lot more interesting and would actually make more sense for them to be put into the “character support” role.

Physical character changes:

Honestly Spark’s colours never really worked with me, it didn’t make much sense genetically and while we never met Starmane’s parents it doesn’t make much sense for Spark to be an exact replica of one of his random grandparents. So I decided to change his fur colouring closer to Powerstrike’s,and his mane colour being Starmane’s. I decided to keep his eyes blue since Waterhunter also has blue eyes.

I also decided that his fur would always be going upwards, being very spiky, which is why they named him “Spark”, instead of because they were highlighter yellow.

Gender changes:

He just seemed like the kinda person who’d also use “They”, that is just the vibe I get. I’ve got nothing else.

Hover

Please be aware there is some language in this part, I have very strong feelings about this character

Personal thoughts on the character:

She was cool……. Until she told Nothing to go fuck herself over a missed ceremony instead of helping Nothing SAVE HER BROTHER.

I enjoyed Hover at first, she was cool, a loner, spunky, and gave zero shits. I used to enjoy that character quite a bit. But oh my god they really raked Hover’s character through the dirt. First Hover did nothing when Nothing was being bullied by her sisters, then didn’t help Nothing when her brother was about to die, then befriended Farleap (One of her girlfriend’s main harassers) after she “died” and then sympathized with Farleap about why she bullied Nothing instead of calling her out on her shit.

She just turned into someone who was supposed to be Nothing’s main supporter too…. Just an Asshole.It was really disappointing honestly, I could ramble about Hover’s issues for an hour but I’m just going to keep going for the sake of my sanity.

Physical Character Changes:

I feel like Hover would have a bunch of small scars from skirmishes in the past with other prides. It makes sense from an animating perspective for her not to have a bunch of scars, so I decided to give an alt version! I also gave her a scar from Quickmane on her eyebrow because she’d been stalking around their territory long enough that I feel like they must have interacted again at least once and I could imagine Quickmane getting pretty pissed.

She also seems like the kinda lion to have a small mane, I know it’s supposed to be really rare and whatnot but I just think Hover wouldlook SO GOOD with a little mane, I could easily imagine Nothing just falling into the Floof. I decided to make her a Barbary lion because she was already naturally really fluffy, and I’m also a sucker for Hover being bigger being super big and Butch and Nothing just not knowing what to do with herself.

Lastly, I made her look a little more like Karabi with the fluffy ears because the fluffy ears are amazing and I can’t believe there was only one character that had them.

So, I decided to make Hover genderfluid because first of all, he seems like they’d use all pronouns, also the kind of person that’s like “gender????” I do, I can just see little Hover being like “Boy….. no girl…. Both??????”So I like to assume that They just take it day by day, sometimes she’s a girl, sometimes a boy, sometimes neither, sometimes all of them.

HEADCANNONS (Also my AU stuff, is this an au? I guess so)

* Hover named herself ‘hover’ because she’d always been fascinated with birds and flight, but ‘flier’ didn’t sound very cool, they thought about ‘Soar’ for a while but just liked ‘Hover’ better
* In my version, Hover is a lot more….. Gentle, while still a Butch lesbian he’s very considerate of Dreamer’s feelings and wants to help her in any way he can.
* When the pride went to look for Dreamer and Feather Quickmane told Hover to stay behind (they weren’t part of the pride, so she couldn’t work with them as a pride until the assessment)
* When Dreamer’s assumed ‘Dead’, Hover leaves the pride since there would no longer be any point in staying.
* Hover never got her huntress assessment because everyone went looking for Dreamer and Feather first (like they SHOULD HAVE)
* If Spark survived he would have dated Tangle (fuck you Fire)
