Finally a colour picture of J'lantir and Colianth! Colianth is still young here, as I wanted him to fit in the picture without J'lantir being teeny tiny.I wanted to have this done before I went away, so yay! Completed. I hope you all enjoy!

This is my favorite of the colored Pern rider and dragon pieces youve done. I love their pose of them being back to back and J'lantir's expression, just bordering on being a cocky bastard ^_^ Fantasticaly done!

Heh. I just can't get into slow-paced books-I gave up on LOTR near the end of the two towers- and I think visual work is best for showing the sort of.. well, "mood" or "feeling" of Pern and alson for showing the emotions of the characters. That is the one major thing I think comics excel at. And yep, I was talking about the effect on Colianth's skin.

For the rock I actually took the texture from a real rock, made it into a brush, and used it here and there to give the texture. I did a bit of that with the waves too, but painted over them to blend with the rest of the picture. I'm glad you like it so much!

I love how realistic the colors look. The amount of texture added to everything, the metallic sheen of Colianth, the wrinkles and highlights J'lantir's hair and clothes, the waves in the ocean, and the shadows and cracks in the rock just make this one heck of delicious bit of eye candy. I love it!

I too also enjoy how metallic Colianth looks. It's a very neat effect you've conveyed. I also like the lines visible on his neck. A very small but great detail that my eye zero'd in on immediately.
