I spent about the past three hours making this to try to cure my art funk. I thought when I decided it should be half-jackal, half-narwhal, that it was going to get eye-gougingly awful, but I got bored and sleepy and lost the will to keep drawing it. I guess I should've given it armwarmers.Related content

this isn't a sparkledog, it's a chimera. sparkledogs require a blinding color clash, while a chimera is just a mix of animals.

It's only a sparkledog if it's essentially a Mary Sue; with regard to a colour scheme wide enough to represent the entire cast of My Little Pony and every jack-ass magical power under the sun. Oh and somehow both parents have died and they've been boxed up in a laboratory for over 9000 years which 'explains' their neon coloured fringes.
So, you actually went full circle 360 degrees through the Absurdity Spectrum and landed right back in the Awesome Zone.

That has to be the coolest Sparkle I've seen yet, just for the narwhal tail (and the fact that it isn't coloured like a bag of Skittles and/or wearing the entire autumn line from Hot Topic). Kudos.

Yeah, apparently I'm not cut out to make sparkledogs, cause originally I had some of the markings be neon purple and I just couldn't STAND LOOKING AT IT.
