Nice work, the depth of field is a little deep, the background is a little distracting.

Yeah, the difference in color and texture helps separate them, but I agree it isn't great.Β

It is possible to effectively blur the background more using a depth mask and lens blur. The following video outlines it very well:

Hi I'm Marjorie from Tsisqua Ugidali Photography, and I am a commenter to provide Constructive Praise.
Out of your photo's I will only comment on one.
What I liked about your photo:Β Β Sharp, well focused.Β Subject is centered in frame. Probably one of the best waterfowl shots I have seen yet.Β The colors are wonderful.Β The clarity of the birds head is amazing.Β
Things that you can do better are:Β Β I would like to see the name of the avian speciesΒ and a little bit of information on it, where it lives, eats, etc.
Thank you, please let me know what you think of communications.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the picture
I usually include anything special that I know about the bird or is important to the photo, but I usually just include the genus and or species name when I can so that others can check out the wikipedia page, etc.Β I didn't have anything interesting to say about this photo so I didn't.Β Until the past 6 months or so I posted so many pictures that it would have been difficult to add the bacis description info to every one
Thanks for the comment, I do try to write something interesting if I have it, but it just doesn't happen every time

Yeah, they are pretty common down here Β I have a few pictures of them with breeding plumage and even a few "young" that are nearly as big as the parents

Note that the link above will also pick up pictures taken at Anhinga Trail (which gets its name from the birds), but it does bring up the pics with the young getting fed by the parents, which was pretty cool
