"You know what one of the best things about college is? The parties, of course! No, it's not because of the free food....or the killer music...or the booze. It's because parties are a great way for me to show off my magic to others! I mean, every good party needs some entertainment to keep things from getting boring, you know?"

"So, I'd heard about this St. Patrick's Day Celebration being held at one of the activity buildings on campus, and since I didn't have any classes until that evening, I figured it'd be fun to check it out and see if I could liven things up for a bit. Now, I had thought about just heading over there by myself, but when Claire found out where I was going, she insisted on coming with me, saying she already had plans to meet a friend of hers there. I'm pretty sure she hadn't told me about that before then, but I wasn't going to argue with her about it. I mean, it's nice having someone at a party who's familiar with my magic. That way, if one of my tricks needs a 'volunteer' from the crowd, I know just who to pick....well, as long as that 'someone' is Zoey or Claire. Heather's STILL a bit uncomfortable with all this 'magic stuff' and....oh....sorry, I'm getting a bit off-topic, aren't I? Alright, lemme get back to the story, then."

"Now where was I? Oh, right...so we made it to the party and, for a while, things were going great. Claire was busy having a conversation with her friend, who I think might have been that guy she met a few weeks back . (I mean, Claire did say that guy was an amputee like her, and...well, this guy at the party DID have a prosthetic leg). Meanwhile, I was busy mingling with the crowd, occasionally showing off a 'small' magic trick here and there. Sure, I could just start with one of my more mind-blowing tricks (like, you know...'decapitating' myself), but I've found it's better to start with something smaller, like....altering gravity to make someone's drink levitate. It gets people talking, wondering if what I did was more than just some 'smoke-and-mirrors' illusion...and at a party, word typically gets around fast. Before long, everyone's wanting me to show off some more magic, to prove that what I did was real....and THAT'S when the fun begins..."

"But for some reason, this crowd didn't seem to be as interested in my tricks as usual...and it didn't take long for me to find out why. Apparently this one girl, a self-proclaimed 'social medial star,' had shown up and started filming herself doing one of those stupid 'dance challenges' that are all over social media right now. And of course, college students typically can't resist an opportunity to be on camera, so most everyone else started joining in. Honestly, I wasn't too worried about it, since I figured all the 'hype' around her little 'dance challenge' wouldn't last long...plus, that gave me a few minutes to go take care of some...personal...business. *sigh* Look, I needed to use the restroom, ok? And besides, a restroom stall is a nice, quiet place to take my head off and recharge my mana, you know?"

"As I was heading inside, I noticed Claire was happily showing off her prosthetic leg to a small group of people, so I thought everything was ok. But when I returned from my quick break, things were definitely NOT ok. It turns out that this 'social media star' (who I'll refer to as 'Bitch' from now on) was SO self-centered that she practically DEMANDED everyone's attention...and when she realized Claire had a small group around her, she was infuriated. Anyways, I got back just in time to hear Bitch loudly insulting Claire, telling her that a 'sad, imperfect cripple' (HER words, NOT mine) had no place being anywhere near someone as 'perfect' as her before promptly storming off."

"Ooh, boy....I'm sure you know this by now, but Claire absolutely HATES it when people treat her like she's disabled...and this Bitch even went so far as to actually INSULT Claire for being an amputee (something that Claire NEVER had a choice about, by the way). And by the time I got to Claire, I could tell she was VERY upset. But instead of being reduced to tears, (which is what Bitch probably wanted), I noticed Claire's eyes were filled with rage...AND they were glowing. *sigh* Knowing it would have been a VERY bad idea to let an angry (and possibly irrational) Claire use her telekinetic powers on Bitch, I intervened and told her to let ME deal with her instead. Now, I could just tell you about this part, but since Claire actually thought to grab her phone and start recording, I'll just show you what happened instead...

???: "Ugh...I can't believe they let people like HER be here. It's ruining my 'perfect' vibe and-"

Lauren: "HEY, BITCH! You got a problem with my friend?"

???: "D-did you just call me a 'bitch,' you stupid...little...leprechaun wannabe?"

Lauren: "Huh...you know, I've never been called a leprechaun before. I mean, I get it...I've got red hair, I'm always wearing green, and I can use magic, so-"

???: "Magic?? Yeah, right. Magic ISN'T real, you know."

Lauren: "Oh....so magic's not real, is it? Alright, then...if magic isn't real, then tell me how I'm able to do..."

*POP*

Lauren: "...THIS!"

???: "WH-WHAT THE FU-"

Lauren: "Yeah, that's right. I just TOOK. MY. HEAD. OFF. Bet you weren't expecting THAT, were you?"

???: "How...how did you-"

Lauren: "Magic, obviously. I mean, I AM a dullahan, after all..."

???: "You...your...your neck....why...why is there a...a f-flame-"

Lauren: "Oh, this? Yeah, it's what I use for recharging for my magic power....and with what I'm about to do, I'm gonna need all the power I can get!"

???: "Wh-what are you....wait...w-why is your hand...g-glowing??"

Lauren: "Well...you DID call me a leprechaun earlier, and any self-respecting leprechaun wouldn't be caught dead without a pot of gold. Unfortunately, I don't exactly have any gold with me...so I thought I'd use my magic to turn something into gold instead...like YOU, for example..."

???: "You...you're....you're CRAZY!!"

Lauren: "Yeah, I get that a lot....doesn't change the fact that you're already turning into a 'perfect' gold statue, you know..."

???: "You...you can't be serio.....wha....my....MY HANDS! THEY...THEY'RE...G-GOLD! WH-WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME??"

Lauren: "Like I said...it's magic!"

???: "ALRIGHT, FINE! I...I'M SORRY, OK? JUST...JUST MAKE IT STO-"

Lauren: *sigh* "Finally...I didn't think she'd EVER shut up. Now then...who wants to see some more magic??"

"So...yeah...I kinda turned her into gold. I'll be honest, I've never done that before...and it wasn't something I planned, either. I mean, all I was gonna do at first was just make one of her legs fall off...that seemed like a fitting punishment for the way she insulted Claire. But then she called me a leprechaun and...well, I just improvised. I think it all worked out in the end, though. You see, once I finally got around to turning her back to normal, I gave her a choice: she could either apologize for everything she had said earlier, or I could use my magic on her again. As you can expect, it wasn't long before she was down on her knees, begging Claire for forgiveness...and once Claire accepted her apology, she quickly disappeared into the crowd and quietly left soon after. Hopefully she's learned that it's a VERY bad idea to piss off a dullahan...OR their friends."
