I was replying to comments and suddenly something struck my mind.. "It would have been cool if I knew whether the deviant is online right now!"Then I realized that even If I wanted to see the deviant is online or not (from the friends menu on top-right of your screen) he/she has be in my watch list.
Hence, I think this small suggestion would be very to apt to see if any deviant is online or not at any moment (despite he is in your watch or not). It will also increase your social communication with any deviant all over DA for sure!

What difference does it make? They get the message anyways. I think this feature would be good with like a chat box widget for IMing. Like you can click a button and it brings up a little side widget on a comment page. Kinda like Facebook chat. But good luck getting DA to incorporate that.

Hmmm I'm kinda torn here. I think it absolutely should be a premium feature. It would work with the current dynamic "for free you can use ___ but upgrade and it can now do ____" but the problem with this is would premium members be able to IM non premium members? If not, then basically only premium mebers could talk to other premium members, which kinda defeats the purpose of implementing an IM feature in the first place. The only way I could see that working is if premium members can initiate an IM conversation, and the non premium member can participate, but free members cant activate an IM chat. That's the only way i can see this system working as a premium feature worth having.

Hmm. That is a way of implementing it. However, just to remind you that there is always DA chat available for all. So, making this feature for PMs only doesn't make any sense coz it is already open for all.

Yeah I know they're there, which is why I bring this up, use that server space or coding or what ever to revamp the system into something more modern and actually useful. The chatrooms are like a dusty dark corner DA forgot about.

I like people NOT knowing when I am online which is why I stay invisible...so if there was an option for that that'd be bloody fantastic

As many people have already stated, I too wouldn't mind a feature implemented like this, as long as we have the option to remain "hidden" or "invisible". Bravo~

as soon as I saw this I thought it was a great idea, as long as you have the option to be invisible, I actually was surprised to see how many other people said the same thing in the comments, I guess I'm not the only one who likes to have the option to be anti-social at times lol

This is an excellent idea. This would give dA a sort of Myspace feel to it, almost. xD And it definitely would prove to be useful when trying to figure out if people are online or not.
