It's slightly complex to directly put stuffs over the custom background. But the easiest will be to use a content-holder box like this one and put your stuffs inside this. Just replace the "body text here" part and put your own text, thumbs, stamps or whatever inside it.

Why do you want your border to be transparent? I mean, by default it can be called to be as transparent right! So...My answer would be..don't use any code if you want the borders to be transparent.

Out of curiosity, would there be a way to code it so that there is another sort of "title" box on the bottom of the content-holder box?

Sure dear you can nest another content-holder box inside it...
You just have to copy another content-holder box code and paste/replace the "BODY TEXT HERE.." of this one. But in this particular "transparent content-holder box" you will face a problem with the margin, i.e. the sides of the box inside will touch the outer box. I can't help with this one..So don't ask me for it!
