Description
A disclaimer would be that I have no idea what I'm really doing or talking about. No, but really I'm still pretty new at this stuff. But here's the tutorial that somebody asked me for, although I probably shouldn't have done it about making a tree.
The tree is shown at x2 in this tutorial.
Um. yeah. you have to full view.
If you have any questions just ask, I didn't explain everything fully and kinda made this tutorial fast. Also, If anyone actually uses this tutorial, I'd love to see what you come up with.

did you use a specific setting for the eraser? and what was your page size for the work? I tried this with a 63*62 but my eraser is not sharp at all any advice is welcomed.

i use a program called paint.net when i'm making my pixel stuff, so i usually just set the fill type to "replace" instead of "blend", set the secondary colour to 100% transparency and muscle it out with the pencil tool. another idea would be to, if your program has it, deactivate anti-aliasing to sharpen the brush/eraser so it fills blocks solidly with the chosen colour. that's what i do anyway

Exactly what I was looking for...I have no idea what I'm doing. This has been immensely helpful in my stumbling journey to make a pixel forest.

Would it be possible for me to use the trees? I know you're using them for this tutorial and everything, but I absolutely fail on trying to make pixel trees. which is why i'm asking... ^_^;;

Thanks!
It actually has comments, there just seems to be a bug on DA right now where they don't always load properly. try a refresh.

I really like this tutorial. It's rather vague, but I can pretty much see the general flow of things, and the end result turns out looking quite professional-like.

Yeah, it's not really a true tutorial. More like a few steps in the process with some basic comments.
But thanks ^^

At least it gives a vague demonstration of how it works. Better than nothing, amirite? 8D
And you're welcome. ^^

HAWT!
That's a good idea, though. Never thought of drawing the leaves that way instead of... y'know... doing each leaf individually.

D-e-n-a In reply to SapphiraHiro [2009-08-17 05:23:01 +0000 UTC]
Doing each leaf thinking about them individualy would drive one crazy, especially on a larger tree.
