My very first icon tutorial!

PLEASE NOTE: This is just a pixelling tutorial. You'll have to look into animation tutorials via Google. This also applies to making backgrounds transparent as it varies with every software and some don't support either of these features.

If you hold down on the brush tool, a few other options will pop up including the pencil tool!

UUUHHHH i can't change it to pixels.... for the 50x50..... it'll only do : percent,inches, cm, mm, points, picas, columns.... and i use Photoshop Elements v.7.....What do i do?!

All icons have to be 50x50, or else deviantART will either re-size it to a low quality format or decline it. C:

I am sure this is a stupid question but I've finished my drawing only it still has a white background, how to I make it transparent on Paint Tool SAI??

when you save it as a PNG file, it should have an option pop up "32bpp ARGB (Each pixel have opacity)"
You'll want to have any layers that aren't showing (like your sketch) deleted before you save it (otherwise they'll show through).
