EDIT: Just realized I submitted this on Valentines Day! So, this counts as my V-day picture. Ha. Also, why is he shirtless? I think my reasoning behind it was that they snuck out of bed... So. Yeah.After seeing some really interesting clip art from the show, I decided to try my hand at another piece of Total Drama Island fanart! I say this because, really, I used heavy reference for this image and wouldn't feel right without saying; I drew this, yes, but it's really just a compliation of a few images in my sketchbook. *laughs* I drew the background myself, though! And, a final note, this is at 25% original size... which makes it, oh... about 3400pxx5400px original size!
The story behind it?
I always pictured Gwen and Duncan nicking off when the cameras are off and having a smoke. Yes, I know they're 16 but... Duncan is so the type; Gwen, on the other hand, probably only joins in every so often. In this particular instance, I see Gwen talking about how it's nice to see something so beautiful still alive on the crappy island; Duncan counters with something along the lines of 'you'd be surprised how many beautiful things can live on this island.'
And then they make out lol.

I love Gwen and Duncan. I've only seen a couple of episodes here and there of this show but the episodes I have seen these two just stand out to me. I love their wit and sass and overall attitude to everything that happens in this insane and wacky show.
I know Duncan is with Courtney (Opposites attract? Maybe? Though I can't help but feel its forced or a 'you want what you cna't have and once you have it, you don't want it any longer'. Courtney, i feel, would try to change Duncan into her perfect mold, while Gwen I think would allow him to be who he is while also being a sort of calming influences on him and keeping him from doing anything too stupid or bad. With Courtney I think with her vice-grip he might act out worse than ever before simply to retaliate and break free from her claws. But I don't know, as I said I've only seen a few episodes and this is just how I see things. I think Gwen would be better for him over all, but then I might be wrong, it just all the episodes I've seen Courtney is just really, really annoying. Is she always so annoying or am I simply catching special efforts from her?) and I accept that because i don't want my head chewed off. But I do like Gwen and Duncan. They're awesome!

I happen to like them together. I also like Gwen/Trent, and Courtney/Duncan. It's not very productive or nice to go onto drawings and tell people they've made mistakes and call their ships "fail". I respect the fact you don't enjoy Duncan and Gwen together, but this is my account, and my art, so please respect my desire to draw them together. I mean no offence by any of this, I just don't think it's a productive comment.
