Description damn, Annie. back at it again with those pony tutorials.
I'm so sorry.
anyway, moving on to the details.
1. now that I've made the final sketch for the body, I can finish the sketch for the hair. it doesn't need to be perfect, but it needs to be clean enough to be understood easily, so I can convert it into lineart. I can also clean up the sketch at this time.
2. now that the sketches are cleaned up, I can trace over them in my lineart layer. I create lines in swift, smooth strokes. it's okay to overshoot the goal of each line, as I'll be cleaning it up later. I also select colors straight from my ref for colored lines on my lineart, to help better match the character. if I want, I can still edit the original image to a small degree.
3. with the basic lineart complete, I can start cleaning it up. I zoom in and slowly go over each section of the picture and make sure that everything is smooth and that different lines don't overlap. this step involves a lot of erasing and tiny details. it might not seem that important at first, but this step is essential to making your lineart look cleaner and making the image look a lot more professional. I can also edit the lineart later, as coloring often brings out mistakes you might not have seen earlier.
I'll be posting the colored version in a little bit, since i just finished the file.
anyway
