just a dance cycle its the first test I did of tracing over a pencil testthe technique is good but its to slow and dull

The animation is nice but i see a problem that i get alot too look at the charecters hat it looks like its changing not uh moving . i dont know the cure for this .
The rest of the animation is pretty smooth .
But the movment itself looks um whats the word ...weird
Im no pro but if you plan out the movement beforehand in small thumbnail sketches itll help you get an idea before you start animating .

I think the main problem is that I don't know what a dance is really supposed to look like, you move about, and thats the extent of my expertise, I look pretty weird when I attempt to dance so maybe theres a connection. But I will look at it with new eyes now.
For the tail of your axe person, try using a fat line on a seperate layer and using shape tweens and shape hints to move it about
