aka: Dark Corruption

A unique variation of the Necromorphic mass known as Corruption, like Corruption it spreads quickly encrusting anything and everything it can in its environment. At first glance it just seems to be a black colored variation but it has and is capable of far more then one would think form regular corruption owing to its namesake as the Deception. Another fact that makes it live up to its name is that while Corruption often acts as a habitat changer removing oxygen from the air changing it into toxic gases, Deception does the same but the gases are undetectable and some patches of it may discharge corrosive liquids or gases that are as potent as the acidic vomit of Pukers.

The Deception is capable of creating and spawning necromorphs, though these aren’t true necromorphs for they are biological constructs made up of the Deception but act in the behavior of what necromorph form they take. Such necromorphic entities are called “Dark necromorphs” (“Dark Slasher” if it’s in the shape of a slasher etc.)

Trivia:

Unlike Corruption, the Deception bares no smell at all while Corruption has been said to smell like rot and vomit.

The Deception is similar in appearance to concentrations of Corruption. The color however is different, Corruption bares a bloody fleshy appearance while Deception is the same in texture but is black in color and in some cases in a more sludgy consistency.

The Deception has a weakness to fire and the Dark Necromorph entities are especially weak to fire as well being made up of the substance.

Disturbingly the Deception when burned let’s out a loud screaming noise that when examined closer sounds eerily like a group of people (humans) screaming.
