I seriously envy anyone who can draw amazing spaceships, like the one in this page!

Thanks!Β I stole the design from a Lego space station image, tho...

Btw, just one super-tiny detail: the text on the mug in panel 2 is not following the curve of the mug.

Sweet jezuz! I'm loving everything about this page! The art is amazing, the character interaction is great, and the story is progressing!
Chris, that first panel holds the best Wally Wood space depiction I've seen, and the last panel? You definitely have to do solid blacks more often! Β

Thanks, Antonio!Β I think I may have overdone it a bit with all of the background detail on the first panel, but if it's got the MMc Seal of Approval, then I have no worries!Β

Β Dalton seems like the Frank Grimes of his world. The first panel makes me think of that giant Cygnus from The Black Hole. I like the progression of the story, so far. It has a noirish, Blade Runner feel to it. The facial expressions are perfect. I can't wait to see what's next from you guys, but I suspect Dalton will be not adjusting to much more of this Colonial policy.Β

A dash of that, a dash of Travis Bickle, yeah. He's a rule-follower on the edge, for sure!
We're borrowing from a bunch of influence on this one - Blade Runner, 2001, Taxi Driver, Outland, etc.
Thanks, man!!

Yes! Yet another page that I am like falling in love with for the first time, reading all the images, soaking it all in. Magnificent work Chris. That last panel is so chillingly illustrated.Β

Thanks, Larry!Β I decided to go high-contrast on Dalton's face in that panel at the last minute - an unusual move for me, but I think it worked.

It works so well. I am so glad you decided to do that.

I don't know if it was done on purpose but the inhabitants of this station have a cool 60's/70's look to them.Β I really like that.
Thoroughly enjoyable art and story.Β Looking forward to the next page.

Oh yeah, definitely a mid-century feel was intended.Β Speed-suits, short-sleeved button down shirts, thick rimmed glasses, comb-overs, etc.Β At least for the "normal" humans.Β I think there may be some mutates coming.
Thanks Zoe!

I can say that I came up with it being a dirty 70's space vibe to it.Β

It really comes through, Larry.Β Makes me think of the classic Doctor Who and 2001: Space Oddysey.
