… I know it’s a cheesy idea for a picture… buuuuuut…. maybe Rey wasn’t the only one counting the days… after all Rey was born when Ben was 11. When he was given to Luke and left his family - against his own will.Related content

...at least, REALLY boring. Same people for years... your uncle going on cool Jedi adventures while you're just stuck...

I mean I know 50+ ys old people which were send away for school by their parents as kids and they have serious abandonmend issues to this day, even with therapy and all. It messes with people.

I have never known anyone who went to boarding school since that is very uncommon in the US, but I can absolutely believe that. (That is one of the many reasons why, while interesting to read, I am very glad the world of Harry Potter is not real.) I have a shared AU with a friend of mine where, amongst other changes, Han actually comes to teach the Jedi students, and is there with Ben. Yes, Han is not Force-sensitive, but he has other skills that he teaches in that universe. And it makes a BIG difference that Han is there.

Yeah I believe Han being around would've helped a lot

Actually I think it's a great idea and well executed. Both Ben and Rey felt abandoned by their parents and that's one of the things that ties them together. So it's completely reasonable to think that while she still maintained hope that she was still loved and continued waiting in that hope, Ben gave up hope that he had ever been loved and decided if he couldn't be loved then the only other course of self-preservation was to be feared.

That's a good analysis of the situation!

I do not find this cheesy, only reason it would be called that is because a fan made it. Honestly, if this was in 7 or 8, I actually would've really enjoyed this, seeing something between Kylo and Rey besides, "One is good, one is bad". We could've seen the two sides of seemingly being abandoned by one's family, and the two opposite paths one could take in this position. Either staying true and being good, or straying to try to find anyone, even someone as evil as Snoke, as a father/parental figure to follow. I say this is not cheesy, because if this was in the movies, it would've been viewed as a great scene.

Honestly, I think adding just about anything could've improved the Sequel Movies, but I do honestly think this could've given a very special link between Rey and Kylo.
