Description
Age of Dragon
More or less authentic gear list for medieval/fantasy setting. I tried to stick to IRL medieval designes, however, sometimes it was rather hard (lock picking how we know it was non-existant till XIX century, for example).
* Abacus - vital instrument for traders.
* Axe, utility - multipurpose working axe.
* Backgammon board
* Backpack, canvas - most common variant among adventurers.
* Backpack, leather - relatively-waterproof backpack (as long as you keep it away from drowning), rather heavy by itself and expansive.
* Backpack, woven - large basket with straps, usually used by peasants. They are not very sturdy, but can be crafted easely. Wicker and bark-weaving are common passtime among them during winter.
* Bagpipe - different variations of bagpipe are widely used all across the world of Argos, by humans and non-humans alike. Most notable versions include Avalonian "great warpipe" and dwarven "dramba".
* Bedroll - large, heavy woolen blancket, rolled and held together by roap or leather belt. Sometimes doubles as carrying bag - you can stuff inside your travelling essentials and slung it across the shoulder.
* Belt pouch - since pockets were not yet invented, this is your next best choice.
* Book, blank - leather-bound book of 100 blank sheets. Often used by mages and other spell casters.
* Book of Needs - Savior Church priest's "manual", contains all the rituals and rites priest may perform. Larger book, Book of Rituals, contains rites for bishops.
* Book of Service - Savior Church book, containing most of the prayers, as well as liturgies.
* Bowl, ceramic
* Bucket - simple wooden bucket. Don't try to pour lava into it...
* Candles - made out of tallow or beewax.
* Candlestick
* Canteen, leather - waxed leather water bottle.
* Censer - clerical incense burner.
* Chalice, ceramic
* Chalice, glass - very, very expensive.
* Chalice, silver
* Chalk - for marking and rituals.
* Charged crystal - quarz crystals can easely store vis* for later use, or even finished spells for use by non-casters.
* Comb
* Coin purse - leather pouch to store your money and trinkets.
* Compass - brass compass in leather pouch. Rather expensive toy, but it helps in navigation.
* Crowbar - bent iron bar, can help you with locks you can't pick.
* Cup, ceramic
* De Occulta Philosophia - ancient magus textbook. Along with several other books, this text predates The Exodus.
* Dice set - five bone-carved dices and a leather cup.
* Fishing line

* Flute - very popular musical instrument, from peasant's huts to noble's halls.

* Lantern - made from iron and oiled paper, it may protect your candle from the elements.
* Lockpicks - set of lockpicks and skeleton keys.
* Lute - traditional minstrel's 10-string lute.
* Mage's Wand - while not necessary for spellcasting, it helps to focus magic powers.
* Map and case - Empire's map in sturdy leather case, to protect it against elements.
* Mill, portable - heavy as hell (around 15kg/30lb), but useful in the wilderness.
* Mill board
* Mirror - tiny mirror in bronze folding case.
* Mortar and pestle - for your herbal practices.

* Mug, wooden - simple mug, you can see it in any tavern.
* Ocarina - aka "earth flute". For the reasons, lost in time, since the days of Exile many ocarinas are traditionally decorated with "triple triangle" symbol. Interestingly, this is the only musical instrument elves oficially copied from humans.
