Post-War Explosives

Different kinds of improvised explosive devices, used by the dwellers of Russian Wastelands.

Content list:

  • Ammonal - explosive, made from ammonium nitrate and aluminium powder.
  • Ammonite - industrial-grade explosive, made from ammonium nitrate and TNT.
  • Ammonite bomb - 1,1kg of A-20 ammonite with 15-second fuse.
  • Artillery shell charge, remote - 120mm frag shell with remote control.
  • Box pressure mine - developed and largely used by Soviets during WW2 under the name "DPM", this mine consists of wooden box, 200g block of explosive and MUV-series fuze with T-pin.
  • Coffee can trip mine - classy coffe can, explosives and good old MUV-series fuze with P-pin.
  • Dynamite - invented long ago by Alfred Nobel, this nitroglycerine-based explosive is easy to reproduce in post-apocalyptic.
  • Dynamite charge, timed (1kg)
  • Holy firebomb - Molotov with self-igniting fuze, sanctified by priest. After the combined nuclear/exophysical Armageddon, you may just need one.
  • Jar pressure mine - honey jar, filled with picric acid and outfitted with MV-5 pressure fuze.
  • Khattabka grenade - hand grenade, made from VOG-17 30mm or VOG-25 40mm grenade and UZRG-series fuze. It was widely used by separatist forces during Chechen Wars and named after their leader, Ibn al-Khattab.
  • Kolotushka grenade - mimiking (in some aspects) old german Stielhandgranate 24, Kolotushka was developed by RNSR and outfitted with driction fuze.
  • Molotov cocktail - mixture of gasoline and motor oil. People's favourite.
  • Nail bomb - 75g TNT block, nails, fuse... And lots of duct tape.
  • Picric acid -  rather easy to reproduced, this explosive was largely in use during WW1, but later fell out of favour.
  • Pipe bomb - explosive devices, made from steel pipes, were in use by different irregulars since XIX century.
  • Pistol mine - nasty stuff, discharging 12 gauge shotgun shell into the victim's foot...
  • Remote PVV-4 charge - two kilos of pre-War plastic explosive, outfitted with improvised wireless firing system.
  • Shilo hand grenade (RGSh) - hand grenade, developed by lieutenant Timophey Shilo from "Ural" vault.
  • Shilo smoke grenade (DGSh-B) - "B" means white smoke.
  • Soda can grenade - aluminium soda can, explosives and standard UZRG-series fuze.
  • Soda can smoke grenade - crafted from soda can, improvised friction fuze and some kitchen-level chemicals.
  • Stake mine - pig iron shell with standard 75g TNT block, MUV-series detonator with P-pin and a stake for placement.
  • Stink bomb
  • Tin can bomb - or, maybe, grenade...
  • TNT charge, timed (800g)
  • Trench grenade - based on early British WWI grenades.

NB: By modern Russian armed forces MUV-series fuzes are considered "non-defusible". While being pretty trivial mechanically and looking very easy to defuse, they are too fracking sensitive to mess around.

Upd.(27.08.2018): Added Kolotushka grenade, PVV-4 charge and soda can smoke grenade.

Upd.(06.09.2018): Added dynamite charge, Shilo hand grenade, Shilo smoke grenade, trench grenade.

Upd.(18.05.2020): Added TNT charge, stink bomb, nail bomb, ammonite, another variation on Khattabka grenade.

Upd.(28.05.2021): Added ammonite bomb, holy firebomb, stake mine, remote artillery shell charge.

May I suggest something?

Trapped Ammo, filled with explosives and mixed with regular ammo so that "the bad guys" have their Guns Explode in their face, acting like a frag grenade (happens all over Syria at the moment)

Hm... May be useful in conventional warfare between factions, but for postapocalyptic wasteland wonderers it makes little sense, other then plot device.

After all, bad guys can get to your "surprise ammo" only while looting your dead body

Right ahead of you

After all, even in modern days line between meds and drugs is rather blurry, while in the beginning of XX century (as well as after the Armageddon) is close to non-existent.
