Description This is that Kyuubi piece I finished the traditional portion of back in November. I always thought I'd go back and work on it but now I'm not so sure I ever will.

I'm actually fairly pleased with how this came out. I was really paying attention to lighting which made this a lot of fun to work on. However, it scans poorly. I may try and get a photograph of it at some point and see if that's more accurate. But for now, this will do.

Aside from the fact that it doesn't scan well, I am displeased with the pose and expression on Kyuubi's face. I really wanted to push it and make him look LIVID. But it didn't happen. So I'm going to try again. This time, the entire piece will be digital. This one was going to be a combination of both due to my lack of familiarity with the Wacom tablet and desire to keep background-making easier.

So look for the new piece soon. I hope.

Kyuubi is (c) Masashi Kishimoto

Kyuubi's cross-eyed, you should fix that before you finish...

This reminds me of concept art. Kyuubi is one of my fave characters of all time, so you get a thumbs up from me!

Bahhhhh, scans can be so irritating sometimes. Sometimes they lose detail and sometimes they pick up texture you don't want and don't notice otherwise.

I think he's a bit cross-eyed. But otherwise I think it looks good.

He IS cross-eyed!! I had intended to fix that when I added the background in PS. But seeing as I'm probably never going to do that, it stays.

I tried to photograph it this weekend and it was better. But I didn't use my tripod (and I should have) so it was fuzzy. I need to try again.

I think its pretty successful, I can see how it likely has better detail in real life, sometimes fine detail just doesn't scan so nice.

Nice work so far. It looks very intense!
