So I obviously got my hands on Starcraft II.
The Zerg are one slimey bunch, and when I found wiggling cocoons with seemingly humans inside the idea for this pic was born: My version of Kerrigan's transformation to the Queen of Blades.
Sadly I didn't come up with a good background. Hords of Zerg woul've been nice, but I was too lazy - so you'll have to deal with the blank one. I also wanted to draw her gun, but it looked like crap - and the cinematic shows it would've been empty anyway, so Kerrigan reaches for...nothing.
Could obviously be way better, but I'm happy with it (except for the background thing).

Interesting interpretation. always found it odd that the cocoon turns from something a drone can carry around to that huge thing you gotta defend. also makes me wanna play original campaign again.

For me it's pre-transformation. But the way she keeps her hair in the Heart of the Swarm trailer (I have yet to play the game itstelf) looks pretty cool too.

While I'm usually a gag snob I didn't add one here, to show her face while she's struggling to get out. Originally I wanted to draw her rifle in a web next to her, just out of her reach and a horde of Zerg in the background. Then I had to realize I can't draw rifles or Zerg at all...

Pretty cool work dude. I'd love to see Nova get a similar treatment! Interesting choice of colour too, I had always imagined that the Zerg biomatter would be more purple, but it works all the same. Keep up the great work!

Well, in Starcraft II the Zerg-slime looks more grey, with a very faint tendency to purple. A difficult color to nail down exactly, but I think I got close.
Nova will have to wait a while, but she's far from being safe...

Like Northrend in WoW, lots of spider related quests, such as saving troops from cocoons, some of which are female troops.
