Description
I have arthritis.I have it in the very early form that does not show on X-ray, and my analysis are clear so I have an inactive phase. It means it doesn't get worse. But it's still painful and it still constrains movement. I am almost constantly on non-steroid antiinflammatory drugs (nonnarcotic analgetics).
That's how exactly painful it is.
Time taken: 40 min
Tools: Pencils 2H, 2B, mechanical pencil 0.5 mm HB.
UPD: Improved the shadows under the hand so it stands, hot hangs.

I've just started to have symptoms of arthritis. I'm tired of taking so many pain killers to be able to move without pain. But dear god, this shows exactly what I'm feeling right now.

Try to get a diagnose and start treatment as soon as possible... the sooner you begin treatment, the less damage you will take.

Thank you my dear! I had this image of needles in joints every times they hurt, had nothing to invent. Just drew my feelings.

Thank you!
Hand is just a trapezoid with four fingers at the widest side of it and one finger at the flank As soon as I figured it out it's quite easy to draw it. Besides, I think you draw hands nice ^^

I did so, too, before I got used to reduce my wrist any time it gots disposition (that's once in several minutes when I'm doing something). Straps didn't help much anyway, though.

Tiger balm is good,it will never fix it but it will take the pain away for a while, If you can get it try rub that on your hands.

Thanks! I quess they start to work, because today it's less pain then the day I drew it, and the day I drew it were less pain than the day before etc. In couple of months it will be okay.
The hand was drawn from the nature meet my left hand starring as my right hand. I can't twist my right hand that way now, I can't properly extend the fingers in the proximal joints to make that claw hand.
Maybe it's the first picture where I like my strokes XD Didn't want to waste time and fingers to try photorealism here.

So,it looks promising when you can feel remarkable progress.Good to hear it.
Wow!Nice to meet your left handTurning left and right side in your head isn't exactly easiest and the most comfortable job.
You mean these under the hand or all strocks? The whole hand looks good despite absence of details.
No wonder.Details are killing me too despite my hand is OK.I once drawn tomato leaf because nice veins in it,than realized how many small shadowes, lights, textures are there...it's left as a skatch

Yeah, it will be ok
Flipping my left hand is already a usual things to me. Last 2 weeks I drew 3 images that contained right hand (Vader, Brissa and this) and all the times I used my left hand as a reference. So it goes automatically.
I mean all the strokes, I usually blend 'cause I can't make nice strokes. I told you when I was speaking about my sensei ^^ the girl who's teaching me.

Since birth, hah... that's bad. In me it showed up I was 15-16 and it started driving me bananas when I was 17. thanks and cheers to you, now I know some of my friends here feel the same and I'm not the one! In the real life none of the people I know have the same problems so sometimes it's hard to get understood even in the family.

Aww yeh i know the feeling. People around me act so weird about it cos they still think only old people get arthritis >.>...even a doctor i recently visited, cos my knees became unbearable, said you are too young to have it...OTL. Hopefully the MRI results will help me know a better way to control it ><. It sucks

It does
The same thing, I visited the two best doctors in my city. One of them says that I lie to her about my weight (I am very thin and can't gain weight, but she thinks I want to be that way) and many other things that make me think why did I even bother her. The other one sent me to the different researches for 2 years and then she named it "rheumatic heart disease, inactive form" (I have no signs of arthritis on X-ray but I have a cardiac defect which is proved) and now I have to take analgetics and preventive treatment and see if it will progress. She believes me, though, because she sees my finger joints swollen (the other one didn't even look at them).
How do you control it now?

gard >< sounds so annoying...is like doctors dont wanna help anyone these days. I got told also i have a heart arrhythmia. I asked if it was anything to worry about and the doc just laughed....
Currently Im using some gel pads on my knees which seem to ease pain for about an hour which at least helps me fall asleep. During the day i wear knee braces. My mum gave me some meds she has for arthritis but they only help my fingers not my knees. This is why i really need an mri ><

I am medical student myself I see a lot of doctors and not everyone is bad, there are a lot of good ones but a lot of them can't raise high enough. And also it is very hard to communicate with sick people, especially old people. As rheumatologist has to talk to old people the whole day I guess they may be a bit irritated.
Yeah, gels didn't help me much too. Diclofenac gel helps best, but it makes the skin very dry. Gels with the bee poison are good too - they distract attention from inner pain because they burn and also they warm. But they need time to sit and wait, or the bandage to cover them. So I take pills instead %)
MRI is bloody expensive in our country, and insurance is still a rare thing here. So in our country it is used only for cancer diagnostic. I even didn't know it can be used for something else O.o

I have a good doctor back home but she was on vacation at the time of my visit so I had to see the other one who was utterly hopeless. She even said to me she usually gives ppl pain killers and sends em home. I was disgusted by that ><. I think the main problem is that there aren't enough doctors around and they have too many patients to get through in a day so they rush you out. In Australia and Japan MRI is used for many things. It is expensive though yeh xD. I dont care though cos Id do anything to get rid of this pain ><.

That's a courage I sometimes give up because if everyone's telling me I'm okay - why shouldn't I be, the last thing I ever wanted to prove in my life is to prove that I feel bad. Don't like to complain much so if okay - than okay.
You see in our country people do not believe doctors much, so they go to doctor when they are so bad that they can't do what they usually do. Most of all it's late stages of the diseases that can't be helped very much. But on the other side, such cases are easy to diagnose. So I think sometimes, if it's so hard to diagnose me maybe it's not anything at all. Of course that's not right - in the university we study an early forms too, and we know sometimes it's hard to say what it is. But the reality is - people come to doctor when they are really, really bad. They get the immediate proves of what they got and that's all.
But thanks to you and many other people here on DA now I know that it really can take years to make sure it's really there... So thank you very much for encouraging me!

I need my fingers too but painkillers make them ok, and there's little can be done now except them (only joint protectors, have to go and buy them finally). I even filled a whole 96-page notebook with the lectures in my university this year, though I wasn't making notes since 2007 XD Didn't have to give up painkillers.

They can help if take them regularly. In the 2-3 months they begin to help and they help constantly until you give them up Then you need 2-3 months again to regain effect.
