Description Painted in Photoshop CS3, Intuos 3, many many hours.

I wanted to give the whole image a threatening vibe with the guns all pointed towards the shadow of her head and the hydrangeas emulating blood (or brains? ) and the ajar door suggesting someone is still lurking about.ย

She does! I wanted it to be sinister, always had a thing for stuff that is a bit on the edge.

The angle of the camera gives a magnificent dynamics to the scene. Excellent choice!

Omg this almost makes me dizzy, I love it and I feel I haven't seen too many drawings at this angle, it also reminds me of a very vintage feel, much the atmosphere of bioshock which I am in love with.
Although I love that movie, this looks better than any shot in it.
Also love how much detail went into the paintings on the wall and the chair and the blood D: All of it!ย ย

DanielaIvanova In reply to Ronaxenamu [2018-03-22 07:23:19 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I know what you mean, that angle was something I wasn't even sure I could pull off I got the idea from a few of Benghoul's paintings with odd perspective. You basically get this sort of distorted effect when your vanishing points are too close to each other. Ofc he pulls it off much more masterfully than me but it was fun and gratifying to try it out anyway.ย
yeah, the movie is set in the 80s and it was that vibe that mainly inspired me. The plot itself tbh didn't really captivate me but that style, being also something similar to what I've grown up with, was such an awesome thing to paint, especially the details ^^ I'm happy that you took notice of them.

Iยดm from

This is extraordinary. ย

Undoubtedly, it does not look like a portrait but a picture that is hung in museums. That is my definition.

The massive amount of detail, the multiple objects, the anatomy of the characters, how the image itself is oriented, the opaqueness of the composition, the opaque color range that gives variety, the immense aggregates such as the lights of the place and the Marboro cigarillo barley are exciting.

Also the design of the girl, without words: It is who disorients the atmosphere of the place with those totally striking white colors and that humanized expression with that cut in his cheek and hair, is totally extraordinary.

And the dead subjects ... OH MY GOD! It's Gore ย .The scene is totally strong with that; You do not know how excited I am now with those scenes ย

In general conclusion, Hydrangeas remains as a drawing that deserves to be in a museum, for its composition, the ambitious of the project and the final result: Impeccable.

Excelent job ย

Wow, thank you so much for such an enthusiastic and detailed comment, I'm so humbled and flattered All those little details that stood out to you and that you found note-worthy are really striking a chord with me and making me feel proud. I must admit, this is one of my works I like the least because of how much struggle it was and it eventually didn't capture my vision too well. But with your compliments I like it a bit more now. Thank you so much for taking a look and fr sharing your thoughts with me. It means a lot

Hello there, I'm from .

First of all, the piece quickly caught my eye, the dark values and tones made it stand out in the gallery and also by itself. I decided to comment on this one because, I haven't seen anything about Atomic Blonde and it's basically next in my to-watch list. I know how silly the reason is but this piece made me more hype about it. Which already impresses me a lot.

The artwork is very noiresque and I'm not normally a fan of those. I would only like something as such if it is really good, so this piece basically reached that standard. Of course, looking at the artwork by itself doesn't give that much of a message. The description wherein you stated that the art has a lot more meaning behind it really blew my mind. It is amazing that the very subtle hints and foreshadowing gave the artwork a different vibe once it was revealed.

To be honest, it's hard to find mistakes in the piece, there would be a few but these would be too minuscule to detect. Like the petals or the blood sprays and the legs look kind of off once you look at it closely and at first glance. It may possibly just be me. Everything else is excellently delivered, textures, perspectives and lighting are appropriate and correct.

Therefore, the piece is pretty effective. The best thing about this piece is the concept and the atmosphere. This is one of the best work I've seen in the group.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to write me such an awesome and detailed comment. I'm really glad it stood out to you. It's definitely something completely out of my comfort zone and I was honestly relieved when it was done.
I hope you enjoy the movie. I didn't see it in full but it's very stylish and beautiful. This isn't an actual scene in the movie but I think it captures the agent's badass skills and no-fucks-given attitude pretty well.ย
I agree with all of your points - there are parts that are definitely off (though admittedly with the corpses I wanted them a bit stiff and distorted the way bodies get in rigor mortis). The concept could have been portrayed much more eloquently, which is the main thing that bugs me in the piece. But it's awesome that you saw the description and were still able to enjoy it even with its subtlety (which in actuality is just my inexperience )
Thank you again for an awesome comment!

Really nice work! The thing about this that really struck me is the unique composition, the tilted perspective really adds to the overall mood of the scene even though it can be slightly disorienting (to me anyway - but I think that's a good thing). I also really love the use of textures and you feel really immersed in the whole scene. Excellent work, keep it up!
