Description The Wings of an Angel
I made this with a tool compliments of my buddy Keith J. Hull [link] . I was sittin around the house, workin on some videos, some new things. Some new promotional type stuff, just finished some earrings for my aunt.

Decided to dip outside an catch some sun rays, an too I hadn't made anything in a while with my percussion tools via thanks an compliments to Diana Benson of Missouritrading and I took this from a raw big piece of rock down to what it is.

A series of percussion flakes, I really didn't think anything would turn out cause it was one of those weird shaped stones. It was at a rather /\ Triangle shape. But it went, went back inside an bam bam bam kept cuttin an chewin till this came out.

An it's the edge work that really makes the piece. Really defines it. But it's of local obsidian, went an gathered it myself, or it might of been a time I took my dad on. Either way.

Spider...I love this piece!!! The shape and cuts in it are exquisite. I love how translucent the piece is and how the stripes show when the light comes though. Very very nice. Is that one of your tools in your hand?

Keep the artistic juices flowing...

The work get's hard when it comes down to being
precise. I don't want to say it become boring, but
when every single little notch an nik matters, it's
just a mind boggle trying to make them all line up
perfectly. Or as perfect as you can make them.

Even some parts i've seen I messed up. BUT as i've
said before once I'm finished with a piece, I'm finished.
The next day or later I don't go back an retouch it,
it all get's done in the the time, in the moment. An
yes that little white tool with a copper point is what
I used to make this point with ;D

That is just stunning. I love the striations in the obsidian.

You can only see them when it's visible light.
Other wise, they go unnoticed @_@

The color with it's lines inside makes for a very nice piece. The shape is very unique, I like it

When I make things, I just start making them.
No design, no intention. Just make.

I have yet to figure what to do with it...
Maybe I'll send it your way, maybe I'll send it
to North Africa, maybe I'll bury it deeeeep in
the ocean.

Who's to say ?

Nice. Look how sheer that is, it's so cool how much light you can see through it. Emphasizes how delicate the edges are.

(Got mine in the mail safe and sound. My mother nearly gave me a heart attack because being nosy she felt it up and wanted to know why I ordered sand. That's so cool you put the chips in. I'll have to find a jar for them or something.)

hahah, sand!! Good One. You know those little tiny jars?
The ones where the people make them look all cute, shoot a
boken style of photography with lights an such an such.

Well I wanna get me some of those an put some of that sand
as your moms call it in there, those would be cool little gifts.
But that's the cool thing about this/the bad thing, is you
can see through this clear stuff.

You can see the other side/the bail in the back an sometimes
don't look too good. Either wire wrapped or as a blade they
work best

Oh Dusty would kick that problem in no time!

Actually for see through stones the spirals work pretty well too. FOund that out by mistake on a moonstone that was clearer than I thought

If you ever upload that pic of what you make, let me know about a day
ahead of time, an I'll launch my photo the same day you launch yours and
provide a link of the finished product.
