This piece was done for a bishie card deck collaboration. [link]The theme of this particular collab was "sexy, as you define it" ...
I suppose "all bloodied up" is how I define sexy. @__@
In any case, I was definitely going for a somewhat darker mood/atmosphere when conceiving this card. The seemingly sculpted-like look of his body was also intentional, in case you were wondering. I kinda wanted him to look like he was some badass character from a fighting game... just ripped and ready to kick ass.
Oh, and I also gave him an upside-down spade tattoo. I know, I know... an upside-down spade is technically a heart. But fuck if it doesn't look cool. ^__^

What fascinates me about this is your interesting use of line to severely flatten some areas and make others pop out. Itβs a very interesting piece of work, visually interesting.
His torso and pelvis look so 2 dimensional and then, with a little bit of shading and a lot of skill his chest literally comes out of the page. Then his head and hair somewhat recedes back into the fog. Itβs fantastic. Brilliant work.

Its one of the things my art teacher is trying to get me to do, see depth, so I notice it everywhere. Especially when it is done in a different way.

i must say..this is one of my favs out of your deviants. im actually trying to define my body like this in reality..im serious, too. the drawing is suprisingly well proportioned. that spade design is pretty koo too. i actually designed my own Ace of Spades design..if u'd like to see it, just let me know. i would say this character has about...5% body fat..maybe. pretty lean. i think im about 12% body fat at the moment. ...i like working out... '^_^
