Description
Part of my Steve Rogers submission for the Captain America: Fighting Styles redesign contest at Project: Rooftop .So the idea is to take Captain America back to his roots and look at military uniform design right before the beginning of WWII. Specifically I looked at the style of General George S. Patton himself and his uniform designs for the Tank Cavalry . The aesthetic continues into today with motorcycle cops .

this is something i wouldn't expect from this design. a combination of the red, white, and blue blend in so well with an WWII style outfit. Also it flows so well into not only the character's personality but what he represents to everyone.

Great costume design! Love the coat and gun holsters, how it wraps around like it does. Just love how the clothing in general complements each others so well.

Thank you. I worked very hard on making the cap costume look like something someone can actually wear.

I dig the the stripped t-shirt and suspenders look for a classic WWII period costume. It's very silly, but the way you drew Steve makes it so that nobody in their right mind would make fun of it. The "flag wing" design is very clever. Thanks for including the links to your research/references as well, that's cool.

Nice work. I kind of went with a similar approach for my submission, at least as far as emphasizing the "soldier" aspect of "super-soldier." But mine's a bit more of a modern battle dress. Good luck, hope to see your stuff on P:R!

I really like this. I dont like how Marvel gave Steve Rogers a very plain costume.

hmm... sto that's General America now, eh? going by the stars on his helm.
very stylish work. i esp like the quiltes texturing, the underarm holster, and the helmet/goggles combo. i don't like the white soles on his boots.

Thank you sir.
The white soles were inspired by Red Wings Boots "vibram rubber" sole, popular among the biker set. But maybe blue instead.
