It looks like a mix between a coelocanth and a leedsicthys. Sweet!

He LOOKS old! Or something!! Ahh, any fish combining the best/craziest traits of coelocanth and placoderm = instant WIN in my book.
The "headgear" and overall body shape makes me think of Oannes, actually...Or the Nommo. Or whatever. So yeah, something mythological/van Daniken-esque. But I've had that on my brain a lot lately.

just asking, what program do you use to make your drawings?
and btw, have you ever gotten a daily deviation?

I usually do a sketch in pencil, and then upload it to Photoshop CS3. As for a Daily Deviation, no, haha. There are far too many better artists on this site!

Awesome! Is this a speed-painting? Whether it is or not, those scales are really neat. They must have taken some serious patience. @_@

Speed-painting? Hmmm....It was pretty much done in under a week, so I don't know if that is generally considered speedy or not. Thanks!

Oh! By speed-painting I was referring to the activity where one sits oneself down, gives oneself an hour or two, and says to oneself, "PRODUCE, YOU!" So not a speed-painting -- but really awesome nonetheless! I like your stuff. It looks like it could illustrate THE COOLEST BIOLOGY TEXTBOOK EVER.
