Okay Dan, for ex. Demetri's cheek on the right side, you see how it seems to fade into the colors at the bottom? Making that gradiant style mix? I need to know how to do that without the assist of the burn tool.

heh, dude use a brush at a low opacity, say 30%.
If your brush edge is to harsh for that part, then reduce the hardness to 0% and bring the spacing to 30% for a smooth blend. bud don't only use this soft brush for everything, you lose character and texture if you do that.

That pale orange background works wonders for this piece. That whitish outline is an excellent touch, too, as it really helps the characters "pop" off the image.
I think I like this one best, of all the Darkstalkers images by you and John Devilman.
