Description
Step 3: Color! In order to go to your color picker, just click on the foreground or background color box highlighted with blue in your toolbar menu.
The color picker will pop up, giving you access to all the colors in our little galaxy.
If you have a different looking set of colors in the big box, don't worry, you've got all the colors that I've got in my setting, it's just not as user freindly as the one that I'm using.
Simply click on the "a" for this particular one. Really they're all the same, but I feel more at ease in this one.
The vertical bar, next to the big-o-box of colors, is used for the warmth and coolness of your colors, it also is used to get you grey values by being set in the very middle.
In the big box I put in some arrows to show you the directions of my type of selections. Cool colors are on the left, while warm colors are on the right. Grey is in the middle.
In the "Swatch" palette located above the " color pick". you can see a big ass "NO". these are the colors that come with photoshop allways. NEVER ever use what they give to you. I very rarely use what they have now at all, I just pick my colors straight from the color picker now.
As you can see there's a little "yes" below. When you pick a color for a character that you plan to color over and over and over and over and oiver aioofaofasfobaosfobaosfobasfboafs
be sure to click on the little "create a new swatch" button located next to the trash-can on the swatch palette (that I forgot to highlight... sorry about that.)
I only do this now for a piece that requires me to color the same character more then a few times. For example, sequential work. When you've got the same character in five panels in the same exact mood and setting, this turns out to be a very useful thing.
Oh and If you feel like it go ahead and swipe some colors from my swatch palette if you'd like to by using the I drop tool located on the tool bar menu. It's the one allready selected.

This helps xD
I can't pull up my color picker though. It only brings up some shitty thing, with boxes.

you know, why do they even bother to include that top part of the palette? its ugly and useless, and anyone thats taken a color theory class or even read the title of a book abotu color theory, can let you know how USELESS it is. We all know the order ROYGBIV, no need to rub it in our face with the useless, choppy, symmetrical gradiation.
