I dont really mind either of the games, both had their flaws, but what decided it for me was the characterization. To put it simply, in terms of character, the original series far outrank the modern installment, mainly because I view all of the DmC characters as rather unlikeable and not really that interesting to be honest. So my answer is clear: Devil May Cry.

Ninja theory make a good gamepay and grafics for DmC, no seriously, its epic . but only in the gameplay and grafics, and soundtrack too, some of it are awesom.
Devil May Cry have the most epic storyline, and a very mature character development. The character itself is being badass without them have to said trashy line (garbage line)/ acting like a junkie like in DmC. So, if i have to pick whose better....well, becoz i already a fan since Devil may cry 1, i'm going to pick Devil may cry anyday.

Vorgin and Donte being called the sons of Spunda means nothing when nobody knows or cares who their old man is since he failed to do anything remarkable.
Dante and Vergil don't need to dress like a crackhead and a Nazi respectively to be cool. Not to mention how powerful and badass they are compared to their inferior counterparts.

Thanks but I highly disagree with you saying that DmC has good gameplay and graphics. DMC4 came out 5 years ago and easily outshines this pathetic reboot in both areas. Heck even DMC2 can attest to having much better gameplay. As for the soundtrack to me DMC2 has the superior music in comparison to the rest of the original four video games.

The new ones don't even look related...if you just set the two side by side from a neutral perspective you'd never think that they were even related let alone twins! As of 2014 dmc has only met 60% of the original sales target and has failed unlike any DMC game has ever done.

I'm a die hard DMC fan and I honestly thought the reboot was amazing as fuck. I found myself dissapointed in two of the capcom releases and the story left so many questions an very little answered. the reboot cleared up a lot more story wise and fleshed out a world I could actually see with a civilization instead of some abandoned planet full of demons and the protagonists lol
Love them all for their own workmanship, but where story is concerned.... the reboot has my love. It's a place in the storyline anyway that's before virgil descends into heartlessness and basically sells himself over to the true demon side.

I played the new game first as I am new to the dmc series. I liked the gameplay but the storyline was forgettable. Out of curiosity I went to play the old ones. I liked 3 and 4 the most. I understand now how old fans are disappointed. and to be honest, I liked the old series vergil more. he was actually hot. :giggles:

Um, no. Actually, Capcom was the ones who told Ninja Theory to change Dante's appearance. Ninja Theory wanted to keep Dante's original appearance. You should be more angry at Capcom, instead of solely blaming Ninja Theory for not giving you want you want.

yeah, also i like how people are like "Dante is cooler he is more goth and punk now".....just no im a goth, i have a punk friend, we are nothing like that, also didn't Dante already dress in Gothic clothes in dmc4 and 1? so i don't know where the "its more Gothic now" came from that i see because dmc1-4 had a distinct Gothic feel (as in the lighting and way the buildings and environments look)
i also would like to ask how exactly trish is a prostitute? she is a kickass lady who knows she is sexy and uses that to help slay demons (like invading the order in dmc3) also she was made to look like Dante's mother to trick him........that means he effectively called Eva a prostitute.....and don't started on VINO i just really need to quote zack fair here and replace one name: "Vergil, what happened to honor!?"
