Description
An exercise for lighting and composition, inspired by a photo from Reuters/Corbis.
I replaced all the elements with my own Macross models and textures (except for the gloves and the vest models).
Poser, Vue, and Photoshop. Valkyrie fighter and clothes modeled or extensively morphed in 3ds max and ZBrush.Ā
Macross fan art.

Thank you!
Cool, working on a carrier must have been a memorable experience.Ā Seems like it would have been pretty intense at times.

At times. The first time during flight ops is the most. But the occasional landing gear collapse or crew eject has a way of spicing things up.
Yes, those both happened, but only once each. At least while I was on the roof.

Ha, nice. It's fascinating how a carrier is like small, self-contained world. I'd love to do more carrier illustrations with a Macross twist.

It's just amazing that you made all of that.Ā And so cool that you used Vue for all those atmospherics.Ā You have an unusual breadth of skills.

Thanks!Ā But to be more accurate, I modeled or heavily modified everything but the gloves and vests.Ā Vue can do some amazing things, and I admire those who truly know how to use it.
